Description for Oldsmobile Cutlass 1972
Vehicle DetailsHello! Here we have my classic 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. I have owned the Cutlass for 4 years now. I recently bought a new house so I need to raise some funds for some renovations on my new home. I wish I didn't have to sell it and I hate to see it go. I bought the Cutlass from the original owner who lived in Fort Mill, NC. The car has lived most of it's life in North Carolina. The original color of the Cutlass was Saddle bronze. It was born out of the plant in Arlington,TX according to the cowl tag. I bought the Cutlass with all the modifications already done by the previous owner. He told me that the 455 engine is original to the car. The only thing that I did was change the oil and freshen up the coolant, brake fluid and ATF. I also tuned the Cutlass up with brand new Accel plugs, Accel wires, Accel distributor cap, Accel rotor and Accel coil. The engine purrs like a kitten. The engine picture that I have up is when I was doing the plug wires. That's why the plug wires aren't in there correct positions. Very solid car with no knocks or rattles. Plenty of torque on tap to smoke up the rear tires with ease. Some of the modifications that the previous owner did to the engine are the Edelbrock intake manifold, Holley 650 CFM carburetor, Heddman headers, chrome Holley high output mechanical fuel pump and a old school aluminum coolant overflow tank. He also installed some cool old school ladder/traction bars to keep the rubber to the pavement. The Cutlass has a TH400 transmission that shifts nice and smooth. The previous owner also installed a Hurst floor shifter. The Cutlass did come with A/C from the factory and when I purchased the car the previous owner was in the process of repairing the compressor. I told him I would just get a new one. I never got around to it so the car needs a new A/C compressor in order for the A/C to work. The interior is in great shape for the exception of a small hole at the top of the drivers side seat. Original seat belts are present and all the glass is crack and chip free. The original radio is present but the previous owner installed an aftermarket radio in the glove compartment. Sounds pretty good. The headliner is in perfect shape with no sagging. The trunk area is solid and the original spare tire comes with the car. The Cutlass has a full Magnaflow dual exhaust running from front to rear. I installed the chrome differential cover when I changed the gear oil. The Cutlass sits on beautiful deep dish authentic Centerline wheels. They're in great shape and I do have the original center caps. The front tires are in great shape but the rear tires are showing there age. I would recommend they be replaced by the new owner. Brakes stop on a dime. I changed the brake fluid this past June and also installed new brake pads in the front and shoes in the rear. The Cutlass does have some rust on the front and rear bumpers. Might come off with a good polish. The edge of the trunk also has some rust issues. I was going to get a new replacement trunk lid and get it painted. They run around $275. The edge of the hood on the D/S has some surface rust also. The paint is showing it's age but has nice patina. The paint is also cracking by the left and right lower corners of the rear window. The only thing the Cutlass needs is a new rubber fuel line that goes from the fuel tank to the main fuel line. It sprung a leak this past summer and I didn't get a chance to fix it. I have the car hooked up to a 2 gallon fuel can so I can move it around and get it in my garage. It can also be driven onto a trailer this way. It's an easy fix if you're mechanicalIy inclined. I know I'm forgetting some details but whoever buys this Olds will be very happy! I can assist will transporting the car at the new owners expense. I have the Cutlass stored at my summer home in the garage in PA. My house is located 1 minute from the Pocono Nascar Raceway. The $500 deposit is non-refundable. Car comes with a transferrable NYS registration that's in my name and a bill of sale. Car will not be released until funds clear in my bank account. The car is being sold in "AS-IS" condition. I reserve the right to end my ad early if the car is sold locally. Car must be paid in full within 3 days once we agree on a price. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Low ballers, dreamers and scammers take a hike. I've heard it all before. If you have any questions or need more pictures please call me at 516-398-120 four. Price is slightly negotiable. Thanks for looking and good luck!
