Description for Opel Other 1972
1972 Opel 1900 Wagon, ronze Metallic, utomatic. Mileage shows 60,468 but it is a safe bet that the odometer has turned 100,000 miles. We bought this vehicle from Opels Unlimited, hen in Rialto. Opels Unlimited purchased the car from a film studio, ake180 (a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company) which used the Opel Wagon in an online series called I Heart Vampires. The front end was damaged prior to or during filming of the show, ut the car was still functional. After purchasing from Opels Unlimited, e drove the car for several months before the engine threw a rod which punched a hole in the engine block. The engine is shot and the Opel in not driveable, t will require a replacement engine. Prior to the engine failure, n undamaged nose clip was purchased from Opel Unlimited and fitted to the car along with 3M Strip Caulk to make the seals and eliminate vibrations. The nose was firmly tack welded in placed. The nose will still need a complete welding job to finish the replacement. Other than the nose replacement, he hood is crumpled and will need to be replaced, ut rest of the body is in very good shape with no other damage to the metal. There is also no apparent rust anywhere except for some surface rust where the nose clip has been tack welded in place. The interior trim and upholstery has been sun baked and much of the hard plastic in the back deck section has become quite brittle. The interior will need extensive rework. This is a solid straight car with the primary value in the solid body and metalwork. It will require a complete going over in the interior and will require a replacement engine. California Title is clear. When last registered, he car had personalized plates which have since been transferred to another vehicle.Forgot to mention that a few years back I had purchased a gallon of Sherwin Williams automotive paint in a bronze metallic which was color matched as close as possible to the original color along with a clear coat finish. All this paint, lear coat, olvents and catalysts are included in the auction.

31 August 2015:
I wanted to make a clarification about the wheels. The screen capture of the car in the show has it with chrome hub caps and matching steel wheels. These wheels were not on the car when purchased from the previous owner. The car came with mismatched rolling steel wheels and tires. Some of the photos also show mini-lite type aluminum wheels which were temporarily borrowed from another car so it could be safely driven. The Opel 1900 Wagon in the auction will come only with the originally supplied mismatched steel wheels shown in some of the later photos and will only safely be used for rolling the vehicle. For safety reasons, hen picked up, he car should be trailered on a flatbed and should not be towed on its own wheels on streets and highways.
I inadvertently neglected to select the option for selling the car in the United States only, nd I already have an overseas bid. I just want to make sure it is understand that the value of the car lies primarily in the body. Shipping overseas would be extremely expensive and could cost 4-5 times what the car sells for.
