MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this extremely rare and extremely low mileage, only 10,650 miles (17,140 km)! Opel Rekord 1900. This low kilometer, one owner, California car was brought in from Germany and lovingly cared for by the same family for 43 years! The car was purchased in Germany by the original owner to travel around Europe in 1970 with his father. In 1971 he relocated to California and exported the car with him. The car remained on it’s original California pink slip from 1972 through 2016, 43 years in total!

The Opel Rekord Series C is a executive car that was introduced in August 1966, by Opel as a replacement for the Opel Rekord Series B. It was slightly larger all round than its predecessor, from which it inherited most of its engines. The design of the Rekord C has been characterized by some enthusiasts as “erotic” on account of the “hip-curve” on the lower window-line ahead of the C-pillar, which reminded some folks of a Coca cola bottle and so gave rise to this becoming known as the “Coke-Bottle line” Rekord. The car proved to be a solid hit with the public: it was reliable, roomy and pleasant to look at with its coke-bottle line.

Finished in a original shade of brilliant gold metallic, this coupe shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. The windshield has a small chip on the drivers side (below eye-level). All the trim is present, complete and displays normal wear. The front and rear bumpers fit is extremely tight and finish is exquisite. There is a small dent in the rear valance. The weather-stripping is pliable, with little or no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. Small rear deck lid lip spoiler. The car has a slight window tinting that compliments and completes the “sport” appearance. The upgraded 15 inch wheels represent well with only slight signs of marring or curb rash.

Inside, the rich tan cloth front bucket seats and rear seats appear with normal with only slight wear spots on the drivers seat’s outside bolster visible. The matching tan door panels, carpet and dashboard are a continuation of the striking gold exterior of the car and look fantastic. All gauges are ergonomically place have correct appearance and function as originally designed. Temperature gauge is inoperable. The originally equipped leather steering is in excellent condition and functions as designed. The extremely clean and roomy interior is designed for the enthusiast in mind with original heater and stereo.

This nicely represented Opel comes equipped with a single down draft carbureted, 1.9 liter inline 4 cylinder engine, mated to a 4 speed floor mounted manual transmission, hydraulically powered disc brakes at front, drum brakes at rear and Euro-tuned (Ansa) exhaust. The wheels are a plus 2 upgrade 15 inch chrome meshed alloy with sport rated tires. It should be noted that the original 13 inch wheels, hub caps and tires are also included.

When you think of Opel automobiles from the seventies you think of Cadets, Mantas and GTs. This is an opportunity to own a rarely seen in the U.S. original Opel Rekord ( never officially imported to the U.S.) that still retains the original “Right Foot” performance characteristics from Russelsheim, Germany GET OUT AND DRIVE!

Current mileage on the odometer shows 17,140 Km (10,650 miles!) on a box A Arizona title, which is believe to be actual. It is sold as is on a clean & clear title.
