Description for Other Makes Mini Minor 1960
1960 Morris Mini Mk I (actually a Morris Minor)
We have owned this car since 1998. It is in very nice condition, robably between a 2 and a 3 in Haggerty's rating system and aside from badging is the same as an Austin Mini. It has lived in a dehumidified garage and has no significant rust or mechanical issues. It has one nominal dent in the top of the front drivers side fender and a couple of places on the door hinges where the paint has chipped off. Being a 1960 car, t still has the floor mounted starter button and drum brakes.
During a complete restoration just before we bought it, it was modified with a 1275cc engine with 12G206 head (S specifications), win SU carbs and headers. It's certainly entertaining to drive.
Since we bought it, e have added: 1) Cosmic Mk2 Mags, 965 vintage, 0"x6 with Yokohama A008 175/70-10 tires that stick like glue, ir horns, ood and Pickett wheel arch flares (after much personal angst about drilling holes in the fender lips), alogen replacement headlights with wire mesh covers, " round driving lights that are not hooked up as I couldn't bear to drill more holes, nd electric fuel pump and a Pertonics ignition. I have the original set of wheels and tires which will go with the car.
The true mileage is unknown. It shows 23,551 which is the same as the day we got it -it is the only thing that I have never fixed with the car as it seemed kind of academic as we only drive it a handful of times a year. It will come with a car cover and the original Mini wheels and tires.
In a way we hate to sell it. It will be sold on a bill of sale as it has no title. Contact by email and we'll get back to you pretty quickly. It is a used car, nd is sold AS IS with no warranty, nd the buyer will need to pick it up. Please accept the following observation in the supportive effort in which it is offered.
Your listing says that you replaced the standard engine with a 1275 and a 12G206 head. The 12G206 head is a small bore head commonly used on 998 (and some 1098) engines. While it could be put on a 1275 it would be restrictive. As the car is a 1960, t is much more probable that the original 850cc engine was replaced with a 998 for which this head would be correct. Regardless, he 12G206 head is not an -S component.
So despite what we were told this information may not be correct and we have added this so all can see.

There is not an ID tag on the block. I can't see the stampings on the rear of the block if there are any, ven with a mirror. So I went to the MiniMania site and followed the decision tree.
Only 5 studs visible
Temperature sender provision
No stamped, aluminum plate or engine size casting on back of block
Tappet covers on back of block
No engine mount provision on front plate
Head casting number 12G206 or 12G295
Indicates the engine is a 998cc Cooper.
Hope this is helpful. It is the best I can provide without an engine ID tag or tearing it down to check!
