1976 Stutz Blackhawk VI Originally Owned by Dean Martin A Piece of Rat Pack History
I am pleased to offer this 1976 Stutz Blackhawk VI which was originally owned by the legendary Dean Martin. See photo showing Dean Martin as the original owner as well as the gold plate on the dash. The car is basically an unrestored survivor in very good condition with some wear noted. Car retains all of it's original charm and patina and even smells a bit of scotch (just kidding). This is Stutz #13 from the 1976 production run. VIN # is 2J57W6P241024 and mileage is 44,301 +/-. The beige interior is original. There are several split seams and some stains. The wood and gold trim are quite decent considering the age of the car. According to research, ean Martin owned 3 Stutz's during his lifetime — a '72, '74 which he crashed and this '76 Special features of this car: — No bumper guards — Single tail lights — Round backup lights — Hard shell spare tire cover — Kelsey-Hayes 20 spoke alloy wheels A Bit of History on the Stutz Cars:The chassis and motors for the Stutz from the beginning in 1971 all the way through to the end production in 1987 was Pontiac Grand Prix. In this particular case, he chassis and 455 cu inch motor is from a 1976 Grand Prix. Typically a complete new Grand Prix was shipped to Italian coachbuilder where the car was stripped and steel bodies for the Stutz were hand built and fitted to the chassis. The interior components were basically that of the Grand Prix but completely re-trimmed. Notable Stutz Owners:The very first Blackhawk sold was purchased by Elvis Presley on October 9, 970, or US$26,500. This was the second Blackhawk prototype, s built by Carrozzeria Padane (the first one, uilt by Ghia, as driven by James O'Donnell himself). Frank Sinatra had vied with Presley for the car. Sinatra was offered the second prototype on the condition that the distributor, ules Meyers, ould show the car at the L.A. auto show, nd get publicity photos with Sinatra upon delivery. Sinatra declined, ut Presley accepted and ended up with the car. Presley had it customized by George Barris after purchase. In January 1971, resley had a mobile telephone installed for US$1,467.50. In July 1971, hired driver destroyed the car. Distributor Jules Meyers offered US$1,000 for the wreck, ut Presley declined and put the wrecked car in storage. It was only restored, ith non-original parts, fter his death and can now be seen at the Graceland museum. Presley bought at least three more Blackhawks and leased one other (he bought a black 1971 for himself and a white 1971 for his Las Vegas doctor, lias Ghanem, nd leased a white 1972 and a black 1973, is favorite Blackhawk, hich he purchased at the end of the lease; this 1973 car is also on display at Graceland).[8][9] Other famous owners included Dick Martin (1971), a rel="rel nofollow">Lucille Ball (who got her 1971 Blackhawk as a gift from her husband Gary Morton with a dash plaque saying I Love Lucy — Gary), a rel="rel nofollow">Sammy Davis Jr. (who owned two 1972, ne for himself and one for his wife), a rel="rel nofollow">Dean Martin (who owned three and crashed his 1972 Blackhawk with vanity plateDRUNKY), a rel="rel nofollow">Robert Goulet (1972), a rel="rel nofollow">Evel Knievel (1974), a rel="rel nofollow">Wilson Pickett (1974), a rel="rel nofollow">Luigi Colani (1974), a rel="rel nofollow">Johnnie Taylor (1975), a rel="rel nofollow">Johnny Cash (1975), a rel="rel nofollow">Curt Jürgens (1977), a rel="rel nofollow">Erik Estrada (1978), a rel="rel nofollow">Larry Holmes (1982), s well as Jerry Lewis, a rel="rel nofollow">Liberace, a rel="rel nofollow">Willie Nelson, a rel="rel nofollow">Lou Brock, a rel="rel nofollow">Isaac Hayes, a rel="rel nofollow">Muhammad Ali, a rel="rel nofollow">George Foreman, a rel="rel nofollow">Tom Jones, a rel="rel nofollow">Billy Joel, a rel="rel nofollow">Elton John, a rel="rel nofollow">Paul McCartney, a rel="rel nofollow">Al Pacino, a rel="rel nofollow">Wayne Newton, a rel="rel nofollow">Barry White, nd H.B.
