Description for Studebaker Hawk 1960
I want to start off by asking you to please call for honest answers BEFORE you bid. Or better yet. come by and look at the car or have someone inspect it for you. I do the best I can describing my vehicles and I include very good pictures that can be expanded. I do this to try and avoid any misunderstandings like one I just had. It is almost impossible to list every little item on a car that may or may not be important to a buyer. Thanks. This is a very cool and mean looking street machine Stude that came up out of Arizona. The body is straight and is painted in hot rod black primer. To put a shinny paint job on the car would require some block sanding and prep work. The body appears to have always been rust free. I see no signs of body panel repair or replacement. and a magnet sticks very solid everywhere. There are 2 patches in the front floor pans. 2 very small patches in the interior kick panels. and 2 small patches in the trunk side area. ( see pics ) The flat section of the trunk area was replaced when the tub work was done to clear the new frame rails. The chrome and stainless trim are mostly good to driver quality. The tail light bezels are probably the worst with pitting. 2 of the stainless trim pieces that go around wheel wells have door dings. The other 2 are good. The windshield is new with a new rubber seal and all of the other glass is good. Windows work. The car does need new weather stripping. Wiper motor and linkage mechanisms are still attached. but they were not wired up to a switch. The wiper arms / blades are in the back seat area. Not much rain in Arizona so I guess he did not see a reason to wire them up. The wipers may or may not work if power is put to them. The Engine is a rebuilt 454 Chevrolet big block with a thumper cam. Edelbrock intake. 750 cfm Edelbrock carb. Not sure of the actual horsepower. but I can tell you that this car is fast and has no problem smoking the rear tires. Trans is a GM 400 Turbo automatic with a shift kit and B&M shifter. Slight stall converter. Has working emergency brake. Rear was back halved with rectangular tubing. ladder bar / coil spring suspension. a narrowed Ford 9" with new Currie posi unit. Currie axles. and 3:55 Currie gears. All new custom Flowmaster exhaust. Aluminum radiator and trans cooler. New 18 gallon RCI fuel cell. Interior is still under construction. Seat is very nice and is out of an older Mustang. Fits like it came from the factory with it. Dash is very nice with Autometer Ultra Lite gauges. All gauges work. Whole inside was sound proofed with Dynomat. Has 4 point roll bar. Needs door panels. headliner and carpet to be complete. Battery disconnect under the passenger side of the seat. Front suspension is stock rebuilt Studebaker. It steers and handles very well. All new brakes and it stops great. All new Painless wiring kit. All lights and blinkers work. Blinkers are built into the headlights. Newer Center line wheels and almost new tires. Rears are Pro-Track N-50-15s. About 12" wide. Fronts are Firehawk P195-60-15. Bottom line is that this is a great little car that drives great and has a lot of power. It has no problem turning over those large rear tires. In fact. you have to be careful NOT to turn them over. Lots of bang for the buck here. Put some vintage style mag wheels on it and take it to the Meltdown Drags. HAMB Drags. or one of the many other nostalgia drag events that are becoming more and more popular. I know I am forgetting something here. so please call with your questions BEFORE you bid. Keep in mind that once the reserve price is met. the buy it now price goes away. and I will not end the auction once that happens. NO TRADESNO TRADESNO TRADESNow for the business end. I encourage you. or someone you trust or hire. to come by and check out the vehicle in person. I will refund your deposit if the vehicle does not match the above description. but it is being sold as is with no warranty once it leaves here. The vehicle does not leave here until all funds clear my bank. Bank and cashiers checks can take up to 5 business days. My bank will give me a letter stating the date when the check will clear. I will forward a copy of the letter to you. Bank transfers can take up to 2 days depending on what time of the day it is initiated on your end. Again. my bank will let me know when it clears. Cash is great if picking it up in person. Call me at 314-732-592five to get honest answers to all of your questions BEFORE YOU BID. Thanks. DaveI do not respond to text messages. One more time. nbsp;NO TRADES. Please do not ask. If you do not know. understand. and accept what "no trades" means. then you surely do not have a vehicle that I would be interested in. I do not respond to low ball offers. text messages. or take offers over the phone. If you want to make an offer. please do so through normal ebay email. Include your name and contact info. If I feel you are a serious buyer. I will contact you back. If you do not hear back from me. then my vehicle must be out of your price range. I do not give out my reserve price. Too many knuckleheads out there that like to play games with bidding just under the reserve amount with no intention of actually buying the vehicle. Makes it look like schill bidding is going on. If you have a feed back rating less that 100% or less than 10 total feedbacks. you might want to check with me before bidding. I will sometimes block or cancel bids if I get a bad feeling for the bidder. Non-paying winners are a real problem for sellers and it is hard to get seller fees refunded from Ebay in a timely manner. if at all. For you new members. please don't bid unless you know and accept how ebay works and understand that you are legally committing to purchase if you bid. Not following through with a purchase after winning an auction for a new member can result in ebay canceling your membership. The California plate was put on it just to drive it around town. It is here in Missouri and has a clear Missouri title in my name. Thanks to all. good luck with your bidding. and have a great day. Dave 314-732-592five
