Description for Other Makes Autokraft MKIV Cobra 1985
This is a very nice Autokraft MKIV Cobra that was modified by Roush Racing in 1989 and 1990. It is number AK1103. or the 103rd car built. The car is one of approximately 400 aluminum bodied Cobras built by Brian Angliss in England. beginning in 1982. The cars were built on chassis produced on the original jigs used by AC in the 1960s and the bodies were hand formed aluminum. The cars were sold new through several Ford dealers here in the US. The car has a Roush all aluminum V8 that I was told by a gentleman at the Roush Special Vehicles Department and the prior owner is a GTP engine. It reportedly displaces 406 cubic inches. The car comes with a stack of copies of purchase orders signed in large part by Steve Grebeck who at the time was the head of the Roush Special Vehicles Department. The car is painted Mercedes Nautical Blue with a white stripe and black leather interior. Roush installed a halon fire extinguisher system in the car as well as a Borg Warner T5 transmission with scattershield. It has Roush installed custom Koni shocks front and rear as well as a Roush built custom exhaust system and cooling system. The work done by Roush is of extremely high quality and the engine looks beautiful with its polished aluminum. The car has a little over 4000 miles and runs great. I installed new tires because the original Gatorbacks were as hard as rocks. I saved the original tires in case the new owner wants them. The car has all weather equipment but is missing the headrests. If you have any questions. please ask them and I will get back to you quickly with answers. I have had the car since 2005 and it is time it has a new owner to enjoy it. The car is listed in both the 1997 and recent SAAC directories. This car is very fast and is not for the faint of heart.
