Description for Other Makes Standard Sedan 1929
You are bidding on a 1929 Hudson Standard Sedan. The car has not been run since 2008 when I purchased it from the Sea Island Company. It is in good condition and could easily be made to run and used as is, or restored to show. The body is solid with only a couple of small dings and minimal rust where there is some small paint chipping. The paint itself is good over the majority of the car, but there are some small white spots on the back where water bounced up on it while it was stored in an open pole barn. These can't be seen from any distance, and are only visible close up. The paint on the wheels should be redone since it is fair. The interior appears to be original and is in decent condition (see photos). there is a circular stain on the back seat. The headliner may have been replaced since it is in excellent condition as well as the top of the car. It has dual side mounts with mirrors, wire wheels and an accessory spotlight. The tires were new in 2004, and the car was driven only for weddings and parades at the resort until I purchased it in 2008. One of the photos shows it in front of the Lodge around 2003. They had the generator rebuilt and new freeze plugs put in. The radiator was leaking, and will need to be repaired. I am selling this because I just don't have the time and space to work on it right now. The car is original and complete as far as i know except for the missing back ash tray and rope that was on the back of the front seat. I do not have a key since it was set up by Sea island to start with an on/off toggle switch. It was featured on the cover of the White Triangle (see photo) in 2005 along with a 1926 Hudson Touring which I also have and may be selling as well (The 1926 was not stored properly at the hotel and is currently basically disassembled.) I can send photos of it if anyone is interested. This will come with a Bill of Sale only since Georgia does not title cars made before 1963. The car is sold as is with no expressed warranty of any kind. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Potential buyers are welcome to contact me to arrange to see the car in person before bidding.
