Description for Other Makes Dart 1961
For sale 1961 Daimler Dart SP250 with TitleIf you are reading thisyou probably know the rarity of this SP250. You may even know that they only built a total of 2648 of these cars between 1959 and 1064. The VIN number is 101234. The tag number on the cowl is 737 2028.
This car is a rolling body. It ismissing the engine and transmission and is being sold as a full restoration project. Overall the fiberglass body of the caris very straight - the lines from the rear to the front on each side are very good. The doors open and close and the gaps are good. The floors are solid. There is some minor damage near the left side rear bumper and below the front nose section that needs fixed. The car has the soft top frame (no material) and 4 steel wheels (surface rust). It comes with the parts that you see in the pictures (steel wheels, metal seats [rusted], front bumper, radiator, a rough original steering wheel, three hub caps, etc.). The windshield has a small crack in it. The dash ispresent but in poor condition. I don't think any of the gauges can besaved.
The side frame rails are solid as well as the x memberand the inner sills and outriggers are in very good condition. While they have surface rust, I couldn't find any weak areas. Unfortunately the front section of the chassis is rusted from approximately 2 inches behind the front shock tower to the front (i.e. the section where the engine sits on top of) is rusted badly and will need replaced). This section will need to be cut out and replaced.
This car would make for an excellent resto mod opportunity if one could bring themselves to doing this with such a rare car. Here is your opportunity. You can't do anything with it if you don't own it.
