Description for Other Makes convertible sedan 1939
1939 Crosley convertible sedan, restored 20 yrs ago and recently put back to driving condition. Body appears to not have had rust, floors show no signs of replacement, the front over the Trans was cut out and welded back in for some reason decades ago. This is a amateur restoration Wichita means driver quality, it has some dings, scratches, wea, paint flaws, and so on . But a real nice body worth doing a proper restore. Engine runs very well but does leak oil from the main seal, but the more I drive i, the less it drips. Headlights, 1 taillight work properly, has great oil pressure, charges great also. Brakes stop the car but you better plan on taking some distance to do s, cable brakes. All the cables are new. Tires are also new but 15 yrs old. I have only driven it in my neighborhood about 10 mile, it's SLOW. 12.5 hp, but fun for a cruise to yard sales ! Interior is decent, back seat is not bolted down, spare tire is mounted inside behind the rear seat. I Don't have the bumper, the top or top bow, or bumper brackets. I wanted to turn this into a wood bed pickup but I located a car I have been looking for 20 yrs. So one must go. I have a drive on lift, so buyer can drive down in a pickup truck and we can put it in your bed. Or bring a trailer. Or call a shipper. Has a clear title in my name. If you don't have $$$$ don't bid. This is sold as i, a driving project that need tlc and tinkering. You Can enjoy it like it is, but don't be in a hurry, it's SLOW ! ! ! ! 12.5 hp in a 975 lb car. I've gone 30mph or so in it is my guess. Speedo not hooked up.i was told there was only 1000 pre war cars made, and this is the first year, the rare one.Ask Questions, study the pictures ! It's a drivable fun car. Payment must clear before car is shipped or picked up.On Feb-12-17 at 11:21:55 PST, seller added the following information:I've had a couple questions about the leak, the leak from the main likes to drip onto the flywheel and scatters it everywhere, it is a constant drip Wich seams to be lessoning, Yankee Crosley told me this is common if you don't have a vacuum on the breather . The breather on it is homemade and hooked to the air filter but the current setup does not produce a vacume. Air filter looks to be a later one for a 4 cyl identical to the one i have on a 1948 wagon .i was told the original crank case breather had a check valve . The one present does not. This is all I could find on info about this Crosley 2 cyl. This is my first time owning a pre war car, so I don't know a lot about them. Just check the oil and go for a drive. I drove it today for about 5 miles to a local antique store, What an Attention getter ! ! ! Lights have hig, low, and running lights. 3 positing switch . All work great. Brake light also . Please check my other auctions for Crosley stuff. A driving chassis with juice brakes will be listed today.
