Description for Other Makes 64 1936
THE WIFE SAYS IT MUST GO!!!!1936 Hudson Model 64The body is good. it has very little rust. The engine has been removed and is machined. With great difficulty I located a N. O. S. camshaft for this engine. I was never able to locate camshaft bearings so I had them made and they are currently installed in the engine block. The main bearings have been line-bored and the crank has been turned. The cylinders are ready for final honing. This auto needs an entire restoration. I have been asked several questions. by numerous people. here are my answers:Yes I have the original hub caps for the car. Yes I have the original gas tank for this auto. Yes I have the original radiator for the car. Yes the car does have a side mount spare on the right side. The Hudson originally came from Nebraska. I purchased it 14 years ago. It's been in my garage ever since. The floor in this auto is solid. it's not fallen down on the frame or rusted through. The trunk floor is also solid. The frame also shows no signs of rust or rust through. I rebuilt the rear end myself. I replaced some of the axle bearings in the process. The interior is original but is shot. it will supply one the needed patterns for new fabric. Yes the roll-down window shade is still in the rear. The broken grill bar is stored in the glove box. The head light lenses are not chipped or broken. No this model type is not one of the "extended" type of four doors. The battery box cover pictured is not original. it's made of press wood. the battery box cover is one of the few pieces I do not have. The brake lines and brakes were replaced by me. they are yet to be adjusted. I only found rust through in two areas on this auto. #1 the very bottom of the grill has rust damage and this can be seen in the first photo. #2 in the trunk there is a rubber gasket that seals the lid. the 'C' channel that held this rubber strip is rusted through in some areas. I have a Hudson heater that came with the auto. but it is not the original unit. The running boards on the auto are solid too. The cam bearings were made in semi. pressed into the engine block. then line bored. currently the camshaft is installed.
