Description for Chevrolet Camaro 1969
For sale is a real, original 69 Z28 vin # 124379N505241. It spent its first 15 years as a road racer and the next 15 as a big block drag car. It has been in storage since. Included is the original 302 short block, casting # 3932386, casting date 1-9-8, which has been freshly rebuilt. The original DZ rear end is in the car. This Z has almost completely new sheet metal. It was lined up on a jig, tacked in place and is ready for finish welding. If you are looking for perfect, there is a little grinding needed to remove the the welding where the roll cage bases were, and the drivers side outer rockerisn't just right. The trunk pan has been repaired with fiberglass to cover where the fuel cell was when a drag car. It looks ok but depending on your end game you may need a new pan. The sub frame is also questionable as the previous owners added frame rails, which have been removed and left a little mess. Otherwise it is completely rust free with all new metal. Sorry there is a lot of primer dust all over the car whichdoesn'thelp how the car looks. There are front and back seats and door panels all in good condition. The seats are nicer than the pictures look. The white seat covers will clean up nicely and worst case for the seats or door panels would be to dye. We have a pretty nice console and we have four rally rims. The engine block is September 1968 and the heads are October 68. It has just been reassembled in the machine shop with good rods with new crank and rod bearings. The heads have a fresh valve job and look real nice. The crank shaft in it now is a 350 crank, not a 302, and there is no oil pump or intake. Also pictured and included are new parts including; new front and rear bumpers, carpet kit, dash pad, grill, and rear spoiler. We have the dash and cluster, likely you will want to upgrade them and we have a new in the box tach. It is hard to find an original Z. With two or three thousand spent for welding and metal, you will have an exceptionally well restored and rare Z which would beready for the paint shop and a candidate for any level of restoration. Iwill consider selling the car without the motor.I do nothave theoriginal transmission but may beable to offerseparately a fresh built M22.If you are serious give me a call, Garrison Smith 727-687-9170. We are in Palm Harbor, Florida near Tampa. Transporting the car will be between $500 to $1000 almost anywhere in the country.
