Description for Other Makes 1980
The Factory Five 818 Sports Car is 1,800 lbs., (the 818 stands for 818 kg or 1,800 lbs.), the newest Factory Five has aperformance envelope unlike any other car. Benefitting from the latest technology in flow analysis, chassis and suspension tuning, and an optimized mid-engined design with provenSubaru boxer engine architecture, the 818redefines fun driving.
The 818 is designed for a global marketplace and uses components that are readily available around the world.
Based on tough Subaru Impreza/WRX running gear, the 818 is an ultra-light, ultra-modern, computer-designed, two-seater, mid-engine sports car. Engineered to be built, the 818 is all about doing more for less.
I purchased the kit in 2015 and built it over a couple years. It's been sitting in the garage ever since. I bought it to build but not to drive. The valve train is from a 2002 Sarburu WRX. It had 130,250 miles. I freshened it up with new timing belt, fly wheel, clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing. New Factory Five wheels. New tire and breaks. The wire harness was built by Iwire. Car runs great and has a clean Illinois title. Note that this is not an everyday driver. This is a sports car with no heat or air. It's more of a go-cart for the street.
VIN is FSR1000036ES, Ebay doesn't recognize it so I put it here.
Note: This card does not accommodate people that are 6 foot plus. The last person that won this auction is 6'2" and chose not to purchase for this reason.
