Description for Packard Deluxe 8 23rd Series 1950
You are bidding on a 1950 Packard that has been in our family for over 40 years. We are the 3rd owners, my Dad having purchased it from a car collector & friend in Davenport, Ia. The car has 39,270 ORIGINAL miles (we bought it with a bit over 12,000 on the odometer). And the car is in splendid ORIGINAL condition, except for a new(er) lacquer paint job about 40 years ago. As the pictures show, the interior is immaculate, other than some sun damage to the upholstery on the very top of the rear seat (about the length of the rear window). My Dad always kept a small blanket over the area, to both protect the fabric and conceal the damage, at the many car shows he attended. Also, the pictures may show rear fender skirts which have at this point been lost or mis-placed and as a result are not included. The car has always been stored in one of our garages, and I live in another state, so have only driven it 50-60 miles a year on JOY rides with my children. Heads turn and folks smile, as they remember America's bygone years and glory days in auto mobile innovation.
My Mom would want me to tell about this Packard's whistling gas fill feature. As the air in the tank is displaced by fuel, there is a whistling sound, until I think the whistle is submerged, thereby helping to prevent overfill & spillage. Anyway the car runs and rides like a dream. I am simply selling because I am not a collector, as was my Dad or my Mom, who is now 95 years young. I will consider ANY reasonable offer(s). Call with any questions: Cell 913-244-4569 as ask for Denny.
