Description for Packard 115 1937
Packard's famous slogan, "Ask the man who owns one" still applies with this full custom build. After all, with slick modern paint, a beefy crate V8, and a luxury interior, there are going to be a ton of people who want to know more about this one-of-a-kind 1937 Packard Six 115 Business Coupe restomod.
The body is a terrific mix of vintage style and modern flair. Packards of this era instantly commanded respect with the bright and tall grille. They are a first-class design with body lines that are artfully allowed to develop. Just look at the crease that begins with a point on the hood and runs until it's allowed to fade away above the rear fender that's pure rolling sculpture. But there's much more going on here. You're looking at the product of a $120k restoration/transformation. The Cardinal Red paint is borrowed from a more modern Jaguar, and it has enough clear coat to look candy-coated. Plus, it has a more modem appearance with shaved door handles, frenched taillights, painted headlight surrounds, integrated gas cap, and deleted bumpers. So you have a vehicle that looks butter-smooth and the luster to back it all up. It's finished off with Packard wire wheels on whitewalls to remind us all that some things never go out of style.
Your key fob has the buttons to choose to deploy either door (individually) or the trunk a very cool feature that people love to see on a restomod. Once you pop the door opener, you get a terrific view of a full custom interior. The tan leather seats have individual armrests for individual comforts, and it even power adjusts to put you in the perfect driving position. The color here matches the side panels, headliner, and even trunk for a great uniform appearance. As a true restomod, you get a ton of great modern features. This includes power windows, power locks, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and provisions for R134a air conditioning. But this still doesn't forget its vintage roots with items like the coordinating wood trim on the dash, doors, and around the steering wheel (over $1,300 was invested just for this.) Plus, that banjo-style wheel gives you a clear view at the Classic Instruments gauges.
With a restomod you want serious power in a compact package, and none do it better than a Chevy 350 crate V8. While the Packard in-line motors look great, there is something quite nice about a tidy V8 with bright matching valve covers and air topper. Plus, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer EPS intake, and shorty headers give this an extra dose of power and plenty more rumble out of the dual exhaust than even the twelve-cylinder Packards. Of course, this custom build will never leave its luxury cruiser roots behind. That's why you have a 700R4 automatic transmission for overdrive comfort, an upgraded independent front suspension, power steering, and front disc brakes. So not only is this a beautiful custom creation, but also you can comfortably show it off everywhere.
The sale comes with maintenance records, service manuals, restoration receipts, and restoration photos everything you need to re-live this one-of-a-kind's transformation. In fact, there's so much custom work, it's actually title as a 718 model. So if you've been looking for the ultimate unique and premium vintage vehicle, this Packard is ready today. Call now!
