Description for Packard Six Convertible! 1939
All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. I can assist with financing and transport as needed. Here is a gorgeous 1939 Packard Six convertible that represents the premier luxury automaker of the 1930’s. While this model was an “entry level†for the brand it remained an exclusive car in its day. It looks as elegant now as it did over 80 years ago.
This car has seen a lot of restoration work and has an odometer that reads 231 miles. The underside is straight and solid, while the body has been refinished in Packard Cream which looks so nice on this model. Note the subtle green pinstriping as well. All the chrome is in wonderful condition, as are the magnificent grille and classic Packard hood ornament. The wheels are painted to match and wear whitewall tires (P225/75R16) and Packard Six wheel covers. The tan convertible top is excellent, as is the green boot with snaps.
This vehicle is powered by Packard’s 245ci inline-six which is a very smooth running engine that propels the car nicely. Note the assisting electric fuel pump back by the tank. The transmission is a column-shifted 3-speed manual with Packard’s optional “Econo-Drive†overdrive. The brakes are hydraulic and the electrical system remains 6V positive ground. Rather than a solid front axle, the suspension uses Packard’s independent "Saf-T-Flex" setup.
The interior has been redone in green leather along with tan carpeting. There is also a wooden dash that looks fantastic, along with what appears to be the original steering wheel and horn ring. There are rear jump seats in back too. The headlights, fog lights, brake lights, and turn signals all work properly. So do the horn, heater, wipers, and parking brake. The spacious trunk contains the spare tire below and has a carpeted shelf above.
The Packard brand may have disappeared years ago but the legacy lives on through cars like this one. It will bring smiles wherever you go and will impress at any car show. They truly do not make them like this any more!
