Description for Plymouth Duster 1972

1972 Plymouth Duster (VS29H2B349xxx) factory 340c.i.(H-code) car, istol grip 4-speed transmission and factory B5 blue paint! The Duster was completely rotisserie restored from top to bottom and looks absolutely incredible! It has the factory performance hood scoops for fresh air, ender tag, lack 340 Duster side stripe and black trunk stripe, harktooth grill, actory AM/FM radio, actory (A88) Duster 340 interior decor group, G36) dual painted racing mirrors, nside hood release and rallye wheels with Firestone Indy 500 tires. The stunning high gloss GB5 Blue Fire metallic base/clear paint is the correct factory color. The Duster was rotisserie restored in 2009 from top to bottom and I just updated it with a light restoration, hich included the engine bay, runk compartment, how car wet sand/buffing, allye wheels/tires, lutch and several other items. All of the body numbers match on the radiator support, IN tag, ender tag and on the speaker shelf/trunk divider area. You must check these numbers to authenticate that it is a real 340 Duster. This is an absolutely beautiful car and one of the nicest factory 340 Dusters you will find with this type of high caliber restoration, orrect factory color and a pistol grip 4-speed transmission! When doing a restoration of this caliber takes a lot of time, atience and money to be done correctly. Please understand this is not your average "driver"condition 340 Duster!!!

PAINT AND BODY

The body is in excellent shape and the panels are very straight with excellent seems and panel fit. The super high-gloss deep clear coat shine was just professionally wet sanded with 1500 and 2000 grit paper to achieve the high caliber ultra shine finish. This long process alone took over 40 hours and the finish shows it! The Dusters sheet metal is believed to be mostly original with only the quarters, runk extensions and front floor pans being replaced. The trunk floor, ear floor boards, ockers, enders, ood, oors and frame rails are super clean and original. The Duster was painted about 6 years ago with base coat/clear coat and is in unbelievable condition... it has that deep wet look shine! It was done in a full rotisserie and completely disassembled to a shell as shown in the photos. If you think it looks good in the photos you need to see it in person! The paint in all the door jams, runk, nner fenders and complete undercarriage looks fantastic. I am very critical on paint and there are only two extremely minor flaws in the paint, oth located below the doors where the rocker meets the quarter at the seam. They are a very small blister just starting in the paint very low at the bottom edge (most of all A-body's have this) and two high spots on the hood by the driver side hood scoop about the size of a penny. These are extremely minor flaws and barely noticeable. The underside of the trunk lid and hood are also in excellent stunning condition. The doors open and close excellent with the ease of a finger and even the door latches and strikers were cleaned and polished.

GLASS, HROME AND TRIM

The glass is in very good condition with only a few very minor marks. The front windshield is new and in excellent shape (PPG). The original Chrysler side and rear glass is in very nice condition and only the driver side door glass has a few scratches. All windows and locks operate as should. The front bumper and rear bumper looks to be rechromed and has excellent chrome. The window trim is very clean and was polished for optimum shine. The trim pieces are some of the nicest I've ever seen!

INTERIOR

The interior was re-done with factory seat covers, arpet, oor panels, eadliner, runk divider, peaker shelf, ash pad, oodgrain on complete dash and sill plates. The factory gauge cluster is very nice condition. All factory gauges work and operate correctly. All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, ome light, ail lights, arking lights, urn signals, our-way flashers and license plate light. The factory AM/FM radio also works, ut AM only (wont switch over to FM). The E-brake, efrosters, eater, an, orn, peedometer and dimmer switch work as should.

DRIVE TRAIN / SUSPENSION

The 340 makes excellent power, uns very strong through all the gears and sounds great. The original 340 was long gone before I got the car. The 340 was rebuilt to 1970 340 specs and has a steel crank. The 340 gives an excellent range of power and maintains 17lbs of vacuum as should. It has 2.02 "X"heads with the better flowing factory 340 manifolds (1970). I only use the Brad Penn High Performance oil, hich was changed and is ready to go! It is one of the best oils on the market and already has the higher Zinc added in for older cars. The 340 has a casting date of 6-2-72 and engine casting # is 2780930-340-5. The 340 is topped of with the correct 340 1972 intake and has a brand new Edelbrock series 600 cfm carb with electric choke. The newer restored Chrysler factory radiator is a 1970 part number 3614025 and is correct for a 340 and also has a fan shroud. It cools excellent even on hotter summer days! The pistol grip 4-speed transmission is a 1968 (PP833 2505 0228 on the ID surface) and is absolutely awesome and a blast to drive! The Duster was a factory 3-speed on the floor (D13) and was upgraded to the 4-speed. We just installed a new McCleod street clutch and pressure plate that is very close to stock and easy for driving to cruises and shows. The rear end is a 8 3/4 with 3.23 posi center and a 489 case number on it. It has newer Mopar Performance stock leaf springs, angers, ushings and rear shocks. The front suspension was completely done and installed in 2009 when the car was restored and is in great shape. This excellent drive train combo has very good performance and handles great in all conditions whether highway or city driving. This is a very tight and excellent smooth running and driving 340 4-speed Duster! This Duster sets itself apart from others with a factory H-code car and a 4-speed that has been rotisserie restored from top to bottom! Please look at the photos closely to see the amount of detail work that was done! Even the undercarriage of the Duster is unbelievably clean and done right!
