Description for Plymouth Fury 1969
Here we have one 1969 Plymouth Fury that is a 2 door Police Pursuit car. It came from the Oregon area so it is most likely an Oregon police or state police department car. It was a white car that has been primered over but is still white underhood so you can see that. I have not seen very many 2 door post police cars ever. It has a 318 2 barrel engine that is not a #'s motor to the car but looks to be a 69 model year based on the vin stamped on it. This engine runs and idles like a dream and does not smoke at all. The transmission goes in and out of gear just like it should and seems to work just like it should. I have not ever taken it out at road speed though as the brakes are pretty soft. They will stop the car but they sit on the floor then until you pull the pedal back up so that will need to be addressed. This car has alot going for it and deserves to be back on the road. It is a pretty nice looking car but it does have some rust issues down low. The trunk pan has been fiberglassed over and those darn rubber mats that come in cop cars just trapped all the water under them and caused the front drivers and passenger side pans to rust out as the moisture just could never dry out. At least they make patch panels now for C bodies and this should be a pretty easy fix and that would make this car road worthy again. The frame rails are SOLID as a rock all around on the car. The lower drivers side quarter has bondo and it cracking and there is a little lower fender rust in front of the door on drivers side. But overall the car is pretty darn solid.
List of pro's on the car:
REAL police pursuit 2 door car
all there complete and runs great
Clear Oregon title with the car signed over back in the 70's by what I think is the second owner as it was never retitled after that
Police stuff on the car (140 mph speedo, 6 inch radiator on a 318 non a/c car, railer hitch, arger brakes, nd battery shield)
3.23 Sure Grip rearend
List of Con's:
The rust
needs brakes redone
ignition switch will need replacing as you have to wiggle it alot to get it to turn now
But all in all this is a pretty darn easy project for someone since it is all there and runs great. Could be a great driver quality REAL 2 door cop car with not a huge amount of work. I hate to say it as I am a mopar purist but this thing would look great as a rat rod too. I myself would never do it but it has the look. Have fun bidding on it and if you have question please email me and I can get you the answers or I have ALOT more pics, bay only allows 12 on an auction and I have upwards of 60 in photobuck I can send you a link to.
