What is it? That's what most people ask. Now is your chance to own and drive your very own space ship! The futuristic space age design of this car is sure to make people ask questions and stare! From the jet intake grille to the jet exhuast tailights on the sides...this car is sure to make people believe in U.F.O.s!

She runs and drives very well. I've been driving her daily for several months now without any trouble. She is more than capable of driving down the interstate at highway speeds. I've taken a few longer trips in the car and she seemed to do well.

The original 225 Slant Six starts up easy and doesn't smoke or make any noises. Doesn't overheat. The odometer reads 35,660 miles. The transmission is a 3 speed column shift manual. I just recently had the clutch and pressure plate rebuilt. The flywheel was surfaced and a new throwout bearing installed. The parking brake band was relined so the parking brake now functions.

The brakes were redone by a previous owner. Most of the metal lines have been replaced. The car stops well. I replaced the sending unit float and repaired the sending unit inside the gas tank. The fuel gauge now functions and 100% accurate. All other gauges work. I replaced any dim or burnt out lights. All lights and turn signals work even the reverse lights. The thermometer speedometer functions as it should.

The car is equipped with a windshield washer and variable speed wipers. The windshield washer line seems to have a blockage going to the squirters. The foot operated pump functions and automatically turns on the wipers for as long as the pedal is down. The original heater core was blown. So I replaced the heater core and box and added new hoses so the heater functions as it should. Other typical maintenance and tune up has been done to the car.

The car is sitting on 4 newly mounted and balanced Firestone bias ply tires with very low miles.

Mechanically the car is good to go. All the critical components have been repaired/replaced.

Work done to the car:

  • New rebuilt clutch and pressure plate
  • New throwout bearing
  • Resurfaced flywheel
  • Relined parking brake band
  • New Firestone bias ply tires, balanced
  • Replaced heater core and hoses
  • Replaced wipers/arms with original units.
  • New wiper blades.
  • Repaired gas sending unit
  • New float for sending unit
  • Replaced dim/burnt headlights
  • Tune up

Body is solid and wears most of the original AirForce Blue paint but the front fenders have rust. And some likely rust on the lower passenger quarter and driver's rear dogleg. The photos show the front floor pans and the trunk pan. There is a small hole next to the body bolt on the passenger front pan. Other than that the floors are in very good shape.

The interior is original. The front seat has some tears but the back seat is still in pretty nice shape. The door panels are nearly perfect. Headliner is still intact but stained. The original rubber floor mats were hard and brittle and mostly broken into pieces. I cleaned out most of the remnants. Most of the jute insulation is still on the floor. Vintage full width accessory floor mats are in the front and back. Car is a radio delete but the delete plate is missing.

All in all the car has been a reliable daily driver for me for some time. This is a 55 year old car so she may need things in the future. As with any old ride.

I have a clear NC title in my name for the car.
