Description for Plymouth Road Runner 1973
1973 Plymouth gtx road runner. Factory 440 automatic. this car is from North Dakota and is very clean for the year. The way you see it is how I purchased it. as been stored in a dry heated building. I keep it on my trailer. I have purchased other cars that have I have been working on instead of this car. That is why I am offering it for sale. I am not looking to dump it so please no low ball offers. Paste this link on Google for an additional 63 pics and the parts that come with the car. slickpic. com/u/MJones25 They produced around 750 of the 440 Roadrunner gtx model. This is a very nice car to start building. it is not rusted out. This is a true Road Runner GTXI've taken as many pics as possible and will do my best to describe it. I am including a link were you can view additional pics in a larger size. There is some filler from the past owner in the car. He did some body work and put a quick paint job on it. I marked what I could find with a magnet. Look for the marking on the panels. The past owner started to strip the car down and this is as far as he got. The motor and transmission is out on a pallet. This car has been off the road for about 24 years per the guy that I purchased it from. He stored it inside. The miles show 3705. The ND title does not list any miles. I am sure that it has turned over on the miles. The floor pans are solid (there is a small raised bump on the rear floor pan. See pic) It looks like a floor jack or stand pushed up a little on it. It will go back down with no problem. Trunk pans are solid as well. Frame rails are good. The inner trunk drops are solid except one that will need patched ( see pic) The drivers rear quarter panel is very solid. The passengers quarter panel has some filler but I do not believe it is full of bondo. I think they just put more bondo in then what was needed. The magnet wants to stick in that area but not just as strong. I MARKED THE AREAS ONLY TO SHOW THAT THE MAGNET DOES NOT STICK AS STRONG OR AT ALL IN SOME AREAS. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS ROTTED OUT OR FULL OF BONDO. ITS JUST A GUIDE TO ADVISE YOU WERE THERE IS SOME FILLER. IF I RESTORE THE CAR I WOULD REMOVE ANY FILLER TO SEE WHAT IS UNDER IT. THE CAR SHOULD ONLY REQUIRE MINOR PATCH PANELS TO RESTORE TO LIKE NEW CONDITION. OR YOU CAN LEAVE IT AS IS AND DRIVE IT THAT WAY IF YOU WANT. Again the body is pretty solid considering the age. It will need the interior. eadliner. and dash redone. The console is also damaged and will need replaced. Rally dash is complete. lenses have a some spider cracking in them( see pic) It looks like most of the parts are there except the gas tank. I am including everything that came with the car. Wheel and tires are on just so it will roll. These are the wheels that came with it. The motor is marked 3698830 440 8 with a build date of 9 13 73. It is not the original 440 motor but is period correct. It is the motor that he pulled out of the car. The past owner said that the motor is in good running condition. I had no reason to doubt him but cannot verify that. It turns over by hand. Transmission and torque converter is included. The car is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Any questions 330-622 1483 It has a clear Ohio title. I had a few questions on how long I would hold the car for pick up. up to 3 weeks with a deposit.
