The Road Runner is a car with serious performance that doesn't take itself seriously. This example. in Rallye Red and sporting a 440 Six Barrel engine. is a prime mover that'll turn heads every where you take it. Glossy red paint covers straight panels. no mean feat with the length of the car. The color cost about an extra $7 when new. and it was worth it! Playing against that backdrop are cool accents like blacked-out paint on the hood and the tail stripe in reflective black. Proper 14” Magnum 500 wheels look fantastic at all four corners. as do the 245/60/14 Goodyear tires. Chrome items from the bumpers to the door handles and side view mirror are in nice shape. and the grille is straight with no faults. The Air Grabber is definitely the top option here. and with the hood pins. stripes and big “440+6” decals looks amazing. Flip the switch inside to open it up and watch the amused stares of people around you. it's a great trick that you'll never get tired of. Under the hood is a 1977 vintage. rebuilt 440 mill topped with a freshened and ready to go six pack. While 1977 may have been during the cast crank years. this block is full of forged components. sports the proper balancer and the proper flywheel. The engine is coated in clean Mopar Hemi Orange paint while the air cleaner is its own correct shade. proper exhaust manifolds carry spent fuel to a pair of Flowmasters while a Mopar electronic ignition provides the spark. Power steering makes for a nice cruiser while the huge 11x3" drum brakes make stopping a non-issue. A newer radiator. new hoses and wiring and new tune up parts means this runner’s ready to go!Slide inside the wide open interior and get comfortable. Those are new seat covers under you. clean door panels at your sides. an arrow straight dash pad up front. a new headliner up top and new carpeting below. Full gauges with the super cool tick-tock-tach let you know what’s going on up front. That’s the correct Hurst pistol grip in your right hand and the original three-spoke wheel in your left. This is a comfortable cruiser ready for show duties and the open road! Put the car on the lift and see everything’s tight. solid and ready for the road. The Dana 60. filled with the original 3. 54 gears and bulletproof Sure Grip. puts every bit of power to the pavement. The A833 Hemi 4 speed 18 spline transmission mates to the engine with a newer clutch. The dual exhaust system runs to correct tips with those tough sounding Flowmaster mufflers in the middle. they really are the official sound of muscle cars! The floors. like the rest of the body. are CLEAN. Check out the trunk pics to see the original floor and quarters. With most Road Runners leaving the factory carrying Mopar’s standard 383. a true V code six barrel car is not an easy car to find.
