Description for Plymouth Savoy 1963
1963 Plymouth Savoy
426 Super Stock Stage I
16,027 actual miles!
Highly documented and the lowest mileage Max Wedge Savoy known to exist. Lifetime California car sold new at Milne Bros. Plymouth Center in Pasadena, California on January 24, 1963.
Documented with the original Broadcast Sheet, window sticker, sales invoice, finance contract, Super Stock owner's manual, past registrations, titles, owner history and was featured in "Mopar Collectors" magazine in 2004.
The car has been verified by Mopar authority Darrell Davis and comes with fender tag decoding and registry documentation from Galen Govier.
Previously owned by the late legendary drag racer and crew chief Dale Armstrong who along with Kenny Bernstein became the duo that broke the 300 MPH mark in Top Fuel.
Dale bought the car in 1995, shortly after the original owner Donald Maltzahn had passed away. The car had 14,000 miles on it and had been parked in Don's garage in Inglewood, California since 1967 (28 years).
Photos of the car from that day in 1995 which show the car's remarkable and preserved condition are included along with additional photos documenting the restoration process.
Features include:
Original 426-415 HP Max Wedge engine with factory dual 4 carburetors, pushbutton automatic transmission and 3.91 ratio sure grip rearend. The drivetrain is factory original and was completely rebuilt by Dale Armstrong.
The blue interior is 100% factory original throughout. Outstanding chrome, glass and trim. Original trunk compartment, spare and jack. Original wheels, hubcaps and correct tires.
Amazing body with excellent fit and one magnificent repaint in the original "Dark Blue Metallic".
Extensive documentation is all included.
