Description for Plymouth Fury 1962
This auction is for a RUST FREE 1962 Plymouth Fury. When most people say rust free, they mean "mainly rust free" as there is always something that has a hole here or there or bubbles in the paint, but this car truly is RUST FREE. The car was acquired by my father with the end goal of turning it into a Nostalgia Super Stock tribute car with a 413 Wedge motor. It is a roller only, with no motor or transmission. It does have power steering and the steering box as well as the pump are still there. The original fender tag is on the car, and I have part of the original build sheet that was under the rear seat. The car comes with the original rear seat, but I don't have any front seats for it. This car has had all the body and paintwork done within the last year, and that included cutting out any rust that was there. The floors and truck pan are SOLID. There is no rust. There is evidence of a few floor patches looking under the car otherwise the car still wears the original undercoating. I didn't paint the car, because if I had I would have spent a little more attention to detail in removing some small dings on the trunk lid. This car has a 8pt cage wended in it, however it was done very carefully as to not cut any holes in anything. All the down-tubes are welded to plates, no holes cut in the floors or trunk, and the cage could easily be cut out and there would be almost no evidence that it was ever there. The rear seat also fits with the way that the cage was done.
The paint shop was kind enough to loose the taillights, and some trim pieces such as headlight rings, one piece of rear quarter trim, the hood and trunk spine trim. The shop told me that they had given those items to my father however they are no where to be found so I'm guessing they are gone. If I come across anything additional for this car while I am completing the process of cleaning out and moving my father's shop, I will send those to the winning bidder free of charge.
I do not have a title for this car. My father had told me it had a clear title and he was going to get it transferred to his name, however he passed away before the car arrived, and the shop we got it from gave me a B.S. line about already giving the title to my father however it is no where to be found. Must be in the same pile as the tail lights and trim.......
There are some small scratches on the driver's side door that are from storing the car in my father's shop, but some touch up paint would cover those. I don't really know much else about this car as my Father passed away last November and the car was delivered to his shop at the end of December so I never got to talk to him about it. Also, for some strange reason there is no hood hinges. The hood latches in the front, but the hinges in the rear are gone, as well as the trunk latch and lock.
The rear seat needs to be recovered but the frame looks pretty solid. A blast cabinet and some rattle can paint would make the seat frames look brand new. The wheels that are on it are mainly for rolling it around, I don't know what they are off of originally but I've been told a 70's era van. The right rear goes flat after a few weeks of sitting.
This is a NO RESERVE auction. This is a solid foundation that isn't going to cost you an arm and a leg. I can help arrange shipping with a shipping company local to me if you need.
I have 70+ photos of the car and take more/any angle/ at the request of bidders.
If you have less than 5 feedback please reach out to me first so that I know you are a serious bidder, otherwise your bid will be cancelled. It's sad to have to have to say that as I too had less than 5 feedback at one time, but I have also been burned more than once on cars with non-serious non-paying bidders. This costs money to sell on here.
Sold AS IS where is. No warranty expressed or implied. PayPal deposit of $500.00 required upon auction end, and the rest within 7 days. DO NOT USE PAY-PAL for the remaining balance due. Bank Wire/Bank Check/Cash in person is all acceptable for the remaining balance. NO PERSONAL CHECKS. Any bank check will have to wait and clear before the car leaves. If the winning bidder needs to store the car for up to 30 days, I will do that free of charge. Thanks and please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. I have tried to be as transparent as possible but I'm sure I missed something. Thanks!!
