Description for Plymouth Road Runner 1969
1969 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible So Plymouth created the Road Runner in 1968 to address the entry level muscle car market, we all know that. However, when they decided to take the roof off of it and make it an open car they created a sleek high performance inexpensive convertible that not only stimulates the physical aspect of a muscle car but also the classy side of cruising. Here is a fully, rotisserie restored example that is very correct has... all the right stuff, is in a great color, and runs great. It looks as good underneath as on top and the topside is fabulous. The original fender tag is in place and it codes out to be very true to original. Unfortunately we have not gotten a broadcast sheet with this one. It is powered by a 383 CID V8 and 727 Torqueflite transmission along with a 3.23 rear end, this one is a riot to drive. The Bright Red paint with white power roof and black hood treatment, that includes "Air Grabber Intake" look fabulous on this fabulous Road Runner and it is easy to drive with power steering and the Torqueflite transmission. This great example has a very interesting history; we bought the car from the original owner that had it fully restored. He did not own the car for it's entire life but he searched it out because he simply wanted it back. In the interim of his ownership the restoration was started and at some point the original VIN tag was lost, I can't explain how sorry, so it currently has an assigned VIN from the state. It does still have it's original fender tag and codes out correctly other than the added AC and wheels and tires. The original owner is available if you want to speak to him. He also supplied us with an old photo from 1970 showing the car as it was when he owned it. It is not a numbers matching engine but it is an original Road Runner convertible with great options and in one of the best color combinations you could ask for. Here is an opportunity to enjoy the rewards of another's labor without footing the bill.
