Description for Plymouth Other 1985
I'm listing my 1985 Plymouth Reliant K (K-Car) for sale. The ubiquitous K-Car was was used to underpin nearly everything in Chrysler's lineup during the 1980s from minivans and station wagons to convertibles.I'm the third owner and purchased this car over the summer as a fun, 80s-mobile - instantly loving this absolutely spotless and very well cared for little car! You might recognize it as a near-spitting-image to Mr. Ed Rooney's car of Ferris Bueller fame - hence the "Save Ferris" sticker in the back window.
This particular example is one of the cleanest, well-kept examples you'll find! It doesn't even appear that the spare has ever seen the road! An Oregon car its entire life, until its second owner purchased it - it rarely left the city of Salem! It was repainted once in its original light blue metallic and the A/C system has been converted to R32. The previous owner did install an aftermarket (vintage-style) radio with MP3 capability. Since purchasing it, I have had new tires installed and most recently a new catalytic converter installed. The interior is original and features an attractive two-tone light/dark blue combination.
The car is in absolutely amazing condition however is not perfect. There is zero rust on the body aside from one area of surface rust near the bottom of the drivers side door opening where the paint has rubbed though over the years. The gauge lights do not work at night (most likely a fuse) although all other lights, signals, the door buzzer, etc. all work great. Lastly, there are a couple of small splits in the seams on the drivers side-seat back.
It has been an amazingly reliable, roomy and most of all FUN little car and I absolutely love clean, well-kept cars like this. Unfortunately I have a few other projects going on and I'm needing the space - so the time has come for me to find a new caretaker. I've never hesitated jumping in this car and taking it for a drive, the car passed Oregon emissions (DEQ) with no problem at all.
