V-8 engine under the hood, plus we have the original broadcast sheet on file plus a folder full of documentation proving this one’s authenticity.

Enjoyed by Current Owner in California Since 1974
The current owner of this 1970 Plymouth Superbird Hardtop purchased it in Florida back in 1974 from the original owner. From there, he drove this amazing classic cross country to his home in California. It has remained there the past 45 years with almost a complete lifetime of documentation showing proper care and maintenance. There is simply no guesswork on this amazing survivor.
Appearance & Condition
In its present condition, this 1970 Plymouth Superbird Hardtop shows excellent in person with laser straight body lines, fantastic trim and a like-new vinyl top. The exterior paint in nice condition with only the slightest of visible blemishes, while the spectacular factory wing shows no sign of cosmetic damage or modification. The wheels are also factory correct and this example is outstanding in overall condition- from the factory air scoops to the immaculate undercarriage. Additionally, we were informed that this 1970 Plymouth Superbird has been resprayed once in its lifetime in the original Tor-Red factory color.
The interior of this 1970 Plymouth Superbird is equally as impressive with original front and rear seating, dashboard, steering wheel, A/M radio, heater and working factory gauges. You’ll also find excellent carpeting and trim to take this example to an entirely different level- the levels of wear are minor and do not detract from this classic muscle car at all. It is easily one of the most impressive survivors we’ve ever come across.
The Factory Drivetrain
Under the hood, this 1970 Plymouth Superbird 2 Door Hardtop feels like a trip back in time with an immaculate factory engine compartment that shows almost no changes over the decades. You will find a new battery along with some light cosmetic refreshing, plus modern plugs, hoses and wires. Otherwise, almost all the major mechanicals appear original in condition including the factory 440 V-8 and the matching automatic transmission. The engine compartment is outstanding and matches the overall quality of this prestigious muscle car throughout.
In terms of performance out on the open road, this 1970 Plymouth Superbird has excellent acceleration, tight handling and fantastic ride quality. It is among one of the most impressive examples we’ve ever driven- which includes models that were professionally restored from the ground up. You simply will not find a more impressive survivor on the open marker since this classic vehicle has been maintained at the highest possible standards throughout its lifetime with the current owner.
Great Documentation on a Numbers-Matching Classic
Overall, this exceptionally rare 1970 Plymouth Superbird Hardtop delivers scorching factory performance that has never truly been rivaled. Given that there only a handful of these desirable muscle cars still available on the open market, we estimate that the current asking price is likely too conservative for such a well-documented, numbers-matching example. Come see this gorgeous show stopper today before it’s back in a private collection forever.
