Description for Plymouth Sedan 1933
Estate car in the same family for 60+ years. We acquired from a collector, he went through the car and made it look and function great. It cruises nicely at highway speeds.EXTERIOR: All steel body and fenders. Excellent body, no rust or damage. The doors fit and shut nice. Only one repaint in the late 90s and it still looks beautiful. It has a new vinyl top insert. 5 new radial tires and chrome wire wheels. The PD was the longer model. This has 4 suicide doors and certainly reminds many people of a gangster car. It also has swing out windshield and working cowl vent. The mirrors were custom made and mounted without drilling the car. All the glass is crystal clear. The bumpers, headlights and horns look like they've been rechromed. The taillights say Plymouth right on the lenses. The running board covers are good original condition.
INTERIOR: Professionally restored interior, it is very nice. Completely reupholstered including seats, door panels and headliner. All new welting around the doors. It has new chrome handles and window cranks. They did a great hob repainting the faux woodgrain trim. Seat belts were installed front and rear, shoulder belts in front. It has it's original aviation inspired instrument cluster with a 90 mph speedo and functional gauges. Turn signals were added, the lever is on the column. The Tommy Gun is included and makes a great conversation piece.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The Silver Dome 6 cylinder motor helped but Chrysler into the #2 spot, pushing Ford into 3rd for the first time in its history. It was so reliable that it stayed in production until 1959! Upgraded to a 12 volt system with an alternator. The battery was relocated to the firewall, it has a marine grade disconnect switch.
UNDERSIDE: It is very clean looking. The metal is all smooth with a nice satin finish black paint. Oil pan is spotless. It has original 3-speed manual trans. The exhaust looks clean. It does have hydraulic brakes. Upgraded with electric fuel pump.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
