Description for Plymouth Road Runner 1968
For Sale! 1968 Plymouth Road Runner – 383 Wedge H-code HIPO – Pittsburgh, PA!
For your consideration is what I hope you to find as one of, if not the cleanest, ’68 Road Runners on the market. It is a Georgia rust free car. I am an eclectic collector with quality being the only requirement in my collection. This car is for sale because I have Mustangs, Chargers and many other cars that are taking my attention and space currently. Besides this ’68, I have a ’67 390 GT Mustang Fastback for sale.
Onto the details of the Road Runner. Overall, the car is in great condition. It speaks for itself! Below I will do my best to describe the condition of the ’68. First, the VIN breakdown!

Exterior
Finished in Ember Gold, the body and paint are very straight and in what most would call a showroom condition. There are no visible flaws. The bodywork and paint are about 6 years old, it is base coat/clear. The doors, hood and trunk lid all open and close like the car was new. The panel alignment is spot on. Glass, trim, bumpers, grill and lights are all in excellent condition! The wheels are in great shape with no curb rash. All of the lights and indicators work as they should. The black Vinyl roof is in excellent shape. The 383 indicating hood emblems are NOS, along with some of the trim on the car. Overall, the condition of the exterior is a 10 out of 10!
Interior
Finished in all black, and largely original, the interior is in amazing condition! The seats are firm and have no rips, tears, or overstressed areas. Carpet, dash, door panels and headliner are in excellent shape. It is clear that the entire car has been well taken care of and it starts with this original interior standing tall! High trim grade, vinal spilt bench seats
Underside
The original floors are in amazing shape with no signs of accidents or prior repair. It is evident that this car has never had any rust issues or repair. Largely original, with the exception of a highly sought after Dana 60 rear end and custom dual exhaust system, the underside is close to immaculate.
Mechanical
The 383 is 100% original. The intake hasn’t even been off of the engine. Carb to pan is original except for the distributor and coil. It has an upgraded Mancini distributor. The engine has been cleaned up and painted, that was it. It starts VERY nicely, with a healthy crack to life, super healthy idle (stock HIPO cam), pulls great and runs cool! All around, it’s a wonderful engine. It sounds amazing through its custom exhaust system. The automatic transmission has a performance valve body for firm shifting. Brakes stop great, suspension and steering are in tip top shape. New tie rod and tie rod ends have been installed. The rear end is a Dana 60 with Sure Grip!
This car is sold as is. The buyer is responsible for any transportation or storage after the sale. Cash, check, or wire is accepted. The funds MUST clear before the vehicle can leave. Thank you!
