Description for Plymouth Barracuda 1971
1971 Plymouth BarracudaI purchased this car about 4 years ago. I have owned several Mopars but I have never had one that was as rust free as this one. It still has all of it's original body panels with the exception of the rear valance and the shaker hood.
Mechanically the 318 engine was taken out and the 440 six pack was installed. I believe the engine to be date coded as January 1970. The automatic tranny was rebuilt less then 500 miles ago. I installed a 355 sure grip for the 3rd member. Their are no noises from the drivetrain what so ever. This car drives down the road true and straight with no wandering. Even though the temp gauge isn't working it has never overheated even on a hot day. There is a small oil leak at the valve cover at number 7 spark plug.
As mentioned there has never been any rust on this car. Other then the body panels I have changed it still retains all of it's original steel. The paint has been sanded and buffed to an absolute gorgeous finish and the body is as flat and straight as you can imagine. Probably much better then the day it left the factory. There are some hairline scratches to small to take a picture on the driver's door glass and windshield.
Most of the interior has been replaced which includes, a new dash pad, new carpeting, Front and rear Legendary seat covers, new door panels front and rear. This car was originally an a/c car. My plan was to install a vintage air system on it so therefore the hvac system does not work.
There are some things that need some finishing. It will need horns some shaker components glove box 3 speed wiper setup and some minor things I have probably forgotten. I have tried to be truthful as I can about this car but there are always things that can be omitted or forgotten. I would hope that any prospective buyer would at least contact me with questions or better yet on the phone. Please do all of this before the end of the auction not after. This car will be made available to any inspections prior to auction ending. This car is being sold where is as is with no warranties written expressed or implied. This Barracuda can be stored for up to 30 days unless prior arrangements have been made. Any questions 636 219 7298 Bill
