1969 Plymouth Sport Satellite (Restomod GTX Tribute)
This Triple Green 1969 Plymouth Sport Satellite began life as a 318-ci V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and 8 ¾” axle with 2.76:1 gearing. It is currently equipped with a modern 5.7L HEMI V8, 4-speed manual overdrive transmission and 3.23 ratio “Sure-grip” axle. Originally sold new in Lewistown, PA it remained with the original owner until their passing in 1980, clocking 27,000 miles during that time. Remaining with the family until 2004 and accumulating only 700 additional miles, it was then sold to a collector in Nova Scotia, Canada. Acquired by the seller in 2018, it was refinished to a GTX tribute standard with a modern HEMI crate engine and A833 overdrive manual transmission. This Sport Satellite is now offered with the original build sheet, fender tag, owners manual, and sales receipt as well as all paperwork and invoices that relate to the vehicle. It has a currently active Alberta Registration and is sold with a Bill of Sale as the province of current ownership does not issue vehicle titles.

PLEASE CALL ME OR TEXT AT 780 818 575NINE AND I WILL BE GLAD TO DISCUSS THE DETAILS OR ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ON THE GTX THANK YOU, DAVE.
The car was undercoated at time of original purchase. At request of the owner, it was reportedly repainted very early in it’s life by the selling dealer to correct scratches and few minor dings. The car was refinished under current ownership in spring of 2018 to include fresh, show-winning Chrysler F7 Green in Cromax water base clearcoat. Recent Wizard ceramic coating ensures paint protection and ease of maintenance.
Paint matched 15x7” stock style steel wheels sourced from Wheel Vintiques are capped with factory “Plymouth Division” dog-dish wheel covers and are wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires 235/60/15 Front and 275/60/15 Rear. Braking is handled by a factory-style front disc brake conversion with drums in the back. All new front-end suspension components along with a large diameter Hotchkis front sway bar ensure confident roadholding. The original spare tire is mounted in the trunk.
The car retains a host of original, unrestored parts including the green vinyl top, dash pad, soft trim, headliner, kick panels, door panels, front tinted windshield, all glass, weather stripping, as well as the chrome and bright work. A correct fitting Legendary Auto Interior 4 speed carpet was installed with seat covers
GTX trim work was applied during refinishing to include a factory 1969 only hurst shifter with dash reverse Indicator lamp. GTX only 150 mph speedometer lens and dash trim were also added. The stock 120 speedometer with original odometer remains under the new lens. All stock gauges work as they should, minus the ammeter which has been disconnected to protect the original dash cluster electronics and wiring.
The car retains the original AM/FM radio which works perfectly through the single dash speaker. For more contemporary listening, a modern stereo is concealed under the passenger seat which powers 2 rear 6”x9” speakers with amplifier under the package shelf. Wipers, horn, heat and defrost work like new.
The engine is a Mopar remanufactured 2004 vintage 5.7 HEMI V8, which was been enhanced with a more aggressive Comp XE268 camshaft matched with upgraded valve springs and pushrods. Engine management utilizes a factory Mopar computer mated to a Hotwire Automotive conversion harness. A custom dyno developed calibration develops 320 rear-wheel horsepower while delivering easy starting and good cruising fuel economy. The passenger AIRGRABBER screen functions for fresh air when hood is closed, very responsive and fun to drive!

Engine cooling is managed with a Flex-a-Lite electronic fan and controller, with custom radiator and shroud which keeps the engine coolin any heat.
A Charlie’s center sump oil pan was used to provide excellent oil control, and a Spectra EFI fuel tank with sump supports the fuel injection. Exhaust flows through a set of Hooker long-tube headers, joined with a 3” H-pipe and Flowmaster Delta 50 mufflers, making a great idle sound and quiet highway cruising.
The original automatic transmission was removed during the paint and powertrain upgrade and the manual gearbox conversion was completed using stock Mopar parts, pedals, and floor hump.
The Mopar A833 is a manual 3-speed with Overdrive 4th gear ratio, which is great for long trips and excellent on fuel. The low 1st gear ratio makes setting off effortless. An American Power Train HEMI flywheel and Centerforce clutch provide smooth engagement and solid torque holding capacity.
Connection to the rear axle is through a new steel drive shaft. The original 8 ¾” axle housing was upgraded with a 741 “Sure-grip” differential center section and 3.23:1 final drive ratio. It is suspended by Mopar Performance XHD leaf springs.
This 1969 Plymouth GTX Tribute represents the culmination of a multi-year search for the lowest mileage, clean “survivor” car to build the perfect modern powertrain muscle car. Having made 2 effortless long-distance trips from Alberta to Las Vegas plus an Arizona route 66 tour, this is a great turn-key drive anywhere Mopar!

The HEMI swap was done with not ruining the cars originality in mind. For example the ECU is mounted under hood vs under dash to eliminate a 2 inch plus hole in firewall required for the main harness. Most the wiring is self contained, less then 5 wires are run to the “69” part of the car. A separate fuse panel and relays control the rest. Wiring diagrams are included, wires are labelled for ease. Additional details are viewable in the gallery along with images of the documents.
There are typical minor rock chips on lower parts of body and front valance as the vehicle has been summer driven. Few touch up chips as seen in pictures. Two minor dings as shown in pictures and video walk around . Rear bumper could be rechomed as it has some scratches on pass corner and under drivers tail lamp. Rear package tray has a break above drivers rear speaker area. Speedo is out 5mph. Temp gauge runs on high side as it has a 192 T-stat. car never has gone over 202f even in the warmest days.
Obd 2 plug is in glove box. Included is a cell phone ready Bluetooth scanner app which displays all ECU parameters plus a full set of gauges with alerts if voltage, oil pressure or coolant temps go out of range. Very handy piece of mind tool for long trips
