The deluxe package with the original velour insert seats are supple and comfortable, nd there are no splits or tears anywhere in the interior. Door panels are also excellent, nd the carpets are undamaged by the sun or wear. The gauges are all fully functional, nd live inside a dashboard dressed up by Pontiac's traditional, old machine turned gauge panel which remains bright. An Alpine AM/FM/CD player, ir conditioning, ower windows, nd a center console round out the impressive list of equipment in this Trans Am, nd a beautiful gold, -spoke steering wheel tops a tilting column. As a non-T-top car, he structure is stiffer and more rigid, nd the interior is largely free of the squeaks and rattles that often plague the open cars.

In 1978, he 400 was rated to make 220 horsepower, nd could be paired with either the 4-speed manual or automatic transmission, s in this car.
