Description for Pontiac Firebird 1970

1970 Firebird Formula 400

This a real 70, 2687 car. I decided to lower the buy it now price for what I am into the car,30K. No other revision or price reductions will be done on this auction.

The rebuild of this car was completed in 2014. From front to back, he car was rebuilt and every part addressed. The car has the 12 bolt rear end with 331 gears and positraction. New rear springs, hocks and break systems were installed. New stainless break lines and gas lines were installed in the car. New drive shaft U-joints in the stock drive shaft. The T400 trans was rebuilt with a shift improvement kit installed. The 400 engine has been rebuilt to a 406 "ram air" specs. The heads are 6X and have had a total rebuild to them. The block is not the original 400. It is a later 70's 400 that was built with new piston's, ing's, earings, il pump, am, iming assembly. The intake manifold is an aluminum edelbrock duel plane set up with a GM, ochester 4 barrel carb. On top of the carb is a factory "ram air" air cleaner that functions. An aluminum 4 row radiator was installed to handle the cooling of the engine. A later model Pontiac HEI distributor was installed. A new a/c condenser sits in front of the radiator. The ac system needs to be completed and all parts, ome new, he rest are the originals are included with the sale of the car. Exhaust is the Pypes 2.5 kit with an X pipe, ransverse mounted muffler mounted in the stock location. Exhaust manifolds are the reproduction "ram air" manifolds.

The body of the car is SOLID, O RUST!!!! All areas of the car were addressed during the rebuild. The body was media blasted to bare steel and all damaged steel was replace. Those areas were rear outer quarter panels. The inner structure of the quarters and body shell was solid along with the trunk floor pan and frame rails and rear body pan. Both doors had the damaged door skins removed then the shells were media blasted, hen epoxy primered before the new skins were installed. Sound deadener was applied to the door skins before they were installed. The right front fender had to be replaced due to rust. The right side lower rocker panel had been damaged badly and "repaired" previously so it was replaced with a complete seam to seam part. The floors were in good condition. The only spots replaced were the very front of the floors "toe boards." The hood is not the original Formula hood. Although, t is an original Pontiac part, t is opened in the air inlets for true ram air.

The front sub frame was completely taken down and media blasted then repainted with a gloss black paint. All of the other parts that fasten to the sub frame were painted a semi gloss black to accent the detail of the new rebuild of the sub frame. All new moving parts were installed on the sub frame along with new springs and all new bushings. The wheels are 15x7 inch rally 2's (5 of them, ne as a spare without a tire) that were media blasted and restored to factory colors, ew proper lugs, enter caps and trim rings were bought new. The tires are BFG radial T/A's, 35/60/15's on all four corners.

The paint is not an original color for the car. It is a dark green pearl coat "Jade green" , asecoat clear coat. 4 coats of color were applied and 5 coats of clear when the car was painted. Then the paint was sanded flat and buffed out to a high, how car quality. The car has won many awards at local car shows due to paint and cleanliness of the car, he really is a beauty.

The interior is black, ew carpet, ew seat covers and shifter installed. The door panels for the car were damaged beyond repair when the car was being rebuilt, very nice pair of 1974 firebird door panels were bought and installed to the doors. All new rubber seals on the doors, runk and cowl. A Kenwood stereo with cd player with 2, x9 speakers in the rear deck for tunes while driving.

This car has had over 30K in parts and labor done to it. To many parts were bought new to list here. It is truly a very nice 1970 formula firebird 400.

I don't want to sell her but due to age and health conditions I am being forced to not only sell my firebird, ut my house and other personal belongings, ld age really bites folks.)

My loss is your gain with this car. She is a real beauty and who ever end's up with her, ou will surely have an eye catching, ependable machine. Since she was completed she has has just under 1000 miles put on her.
