It does not retain it's original matching numbers engine but it does have a Pontiac 400, -Speed block and is in great shape. This car drives great and has a functional shaker scoop. We have never seen that on a 77 Trans Am but it works and looks cool when you punch the accelerator. The car runs strong and will easily smoke the tires but drives very nicely down the road if you are taking out for a weekend cruise. Want to use it as your daily driver? The factory air conditioning cools very nicely and the car does not overheat. Even in the 100F+ temperatures wehave beenhaving here in Houston, exas. I took this car out for several drives of 20 miles or more and the car performed very well. I stayed very cool with the windows rolled up. Also, he aftermarket sound system plays very nicely as well. This car is a great daily driver and can be taken to any car show where you will be proud to show it off. The car is not perfect but the car is in very good condition. The car is solid with no major rust issues anywhere to be found. We would probably repaint the rear bumper if we keep it for the longer term and the T-tops are not in perfect shape but they are original to the car. The interior is in very good restored condition. The dash is in excellent shape with no cracks that we have seen anywhere on it. There are just too many great things to say about this car that I am sure we left something out.
