Description for Pontiac Firebird 1974
1974 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350
This is the last year of the more sought after flat rear window option; the 1974 models featured a redesigned "shovel-nose" front end and new wide "slotted" taillights. This car is complete and a very good choice to restore or fix up slightly and drive everyday if that was your wish. It is as it was when new (minus the wear and tear) and what I mean by that is that a lot of these cars were butchered up by young kids to race, his car is mainly stock and ready to be restored to your liking. My brother and I purchased this car to restore and we simply do not have the time to do so, hat is our reason for selling and we both feel like we will regret this decision down the road. Yes it needs a paint job and tune up but we are not asking the money that they are getting for these cars finished either. I have a great eBay rating and do not sell items not as described.Body/Exterior
The car is "very" solid for its age; the car has either been in Georgia where it was purchased new or in Florida. The car has had some slight bodywork done (Door dings mainly and some stress cracks were fixed on the factory fiberglass hood) but that is about it. This is the best looking hood ever produced in my eyes. The car was originally and still is the factory color of ascot silver except where there is primer. It does have some small rust areas you can see in pictures on rocker but not bad at all. The underside floor boards are very solid and rust free as well, he trunk is rust free and is all original splatter paint but this is a "VERY" solid original car... I cannot stress that enough... The factory rally rims were just recently mounted to BRAND NEW BF GOODRICH RADIAL T/A Tires (Less than 5 miles on them).Engine/Drivetrain
This vehicle has the factory 350 eight cylinder engine it came from the factory with; it is matched to a turbo 350 automatic transmission. The car does run but our focus so far was the body so we did not touch the motor with a tune up or anything so it presently runs a little rough but I am sure with a tune up it will be fine. The non-factory item on this car is an edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carburetor setup; it came from the factory with a 2 barrel set up per the vin and PHS documentation. It does seem to have a slight exhaust leak on the passenger side that we can hear when running at times. The transmission and brakes both seem to work fine but we have not driven the car except around the block as it is not insured. We have paperwork showing that the motor was rebuilt in the late 90's to basically factory specs. The gas tank is clean without issues. The A/C is all there and blows but it is not cold.Interior
The complete factory interior is complete and all there. The dash has one small crack unfortunately, he seats, arpet, oor panels, re all in very good condition for their age without any rips. The windows roll up and down fine and sit properly in the channel. It is presently missing a radio but the factory radio hole is not cut up or damaged. The gauges do not seem to be working and it simply could be a fuse but I do not know that for a fact.Assorted Info:
Do you want a car finished? Well then this is not the car for you but do you want to invest some time and effort and have a great car? Well then this is the car for you. I have an open Florida title for this car, he shipping charges will all be on the buyer but I will help in any fashion that I can by loading etc... Like I stated earlier we have driven the car around the block from time to time and it seems fine but I would recommend trailering the car home if your purchase it as it has been sitting. There is quite a bit of paperwork from carto be included with sale. Terms of Sale Overview: I reserve the right to end this listing at any time, hould the vehicle no longer be available for sale.
