Description for Pontiac GTO 1970

Year-in and year-out, ew cars are as popular as the mighty Pontiac GTO. And if you're a fan of driving, his bright red 1970 Pontiac GTO hardtop offers everything you'd want, anging from a stout 400 cubic inch V8 to vivid red paint, ll at a very appealing price.Having lived most of its life out west, he bodywork on this car is in great shape. That's a big plus on a car that's 45 years old and it made the perfect foundation for the bright red paint. The cowl tag says this one was originally code 58 Granada Gold, ut who's going to argue with how it looks today? The Endura front bumper was a pretty big deal in 1970 and gives the Goat a uniquely Pontiac look, nd today it shows well with only minor signs of age and use, hich only means it's working as intended. The Ram Air hood and rear wing are both ways that this GTO suggests that you leave it alone on the street, lthough the black vinyl roof gives it a bit of formality and the contrast is very appealing. Correct GTO emblems and badges are in place and the bright chrome rear bumper is in excellent condition. The red bucket seat interior is an awesome choice when you're used to seeing plain old black all the time, nd the high-back buckets look especially good in the performance-oriented GTO. This one seems to be pretty well loaded with options like factory A/C, ower windows, nd a tilt steering column, lus a later AM/FM/cassette stereo system in the dash. The upholstery is in good shape and showing only minor signs of age and use, nd it appears that the gauges themselves are original, ore evidence of a nicely-kept car. Engine-turned dash panels are a Pontiac trademark and the three-spoke steering wheel is pure 1970s cool that practically screams performance. Oddly enough, his car has a column shifter, hich is an odd choice on a GTO, ut that's part of why muscle cars are so popular today; those odd combinations make some of them quite rare. You can see signs of clean west-coast living in the trunk, hich appears to wear factory-applied spatter paint and some pretty darned nice sheetmetal.Despite what the air cleaner says, here's a strong-running Pontiac 400 cubic inch V8 under the hood and it delivers the kind of performance you'd expect from the flagship GTO. It's a 1969 Ram Air III engine with a pretty stout torque curve and it's a neat fit in the Goat's satin black engine bay. It looks quite stock and unless you're a Pontiac expert, 'm guessing most folks will never notice the swap took place. Regardless, t runs well, ulls hard, nd has a great eight cylinder growl from the recently replaced dual exhaust system underneath. It's backed by a rugged TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear end, o you don't have to worry about running it hard. You can see evidence of its life in California and Arizona when you look underneath and it sits exactly right on a set of Pontiac Rally II wheels and 235/60/14 Firestone radials.Documented with ownership history back to day one, HS paperwork, nd a few other goodies, his is a great driver-grade Goat that's ready to enjoy without the massive price tag.
