Modern drivetrain
Great on the road

Up for bids is this fantastic '54 Pontiac Wagon. This wagon was restored in 1999 by the Founder and Director Emeritus of the Pontiac-Oakland Club International (POCI). At that time a modern drivetrain was installed, onsisting of a Nova sub-frame and rear end, isc brakes, 50 crate motor and a TH400 transmission. The result is a cruising machine that's ready to reliably cover any distance in comfort and style.

Painted in the factory correct combination of San Marino Blue over Mayfair Blue, his wagon definitely has eye appeal. The paint quality is to driver standards (it lacks the depth and gloss of show paint), olor sanding could bring it up a level. Still looks sharp driving down the road and never fails to garner its fair share of thumbs-up, ven if it's not quite ready for the concours lawn. One positive is the lack of rust, he wagon has zero issues and the undercarriage is likewise solid. Wheels are classic American-Racing Torque-Thrusts, rapped in 205/75/R15 radials, ll in great shape.

Straight bumpers and grill with good chrome. The front and rear bumperettes are included, hey're in good condition, nly having been removed for aesthetic preference.

All of the trim is in good condition with no pitting or damage.

Yes, he surfboard is included, t's mounted in an iconic Classic Rack, modern-day reproduction of the designs seen in the 40s and 50s.

All of the glass is in excellent condition.

From the carpet to the headliner, he entire interior has been redone and is outstanding throughout.

A GM tilt column has been added. Every knob, witch and lever works as intended. Clean underdash area. Front and rear floor mats are included, removed them for the photos.

Gauges are all working and show good consistent readings. Clock is moving but doesn't keep the correct time. A Panasonic stereo has been tastefully installed along with 5 speakers for great sound.

Clean door panels and solid sills. All new weatherstripping, very piece.

Roomy back seat, ith seatbelts. Headliner is terrific from front to back.

Clean cargo area.

Lots of time and money spent on the mechanicals for this wagon, nd it runs and drives excellent. Starts easily, uns strong with no smoke, o hesistation, o issues - just turn the key and go. The 350ci V8 breathes through a 600cfm Holley atop an Edelbrock manifold, nd headers send the exhaust through a pair of Flowmasters for a nice understated burble and a super smooth idle. Power steering and disc brakes up front make around town driving easy. The motor provides plenty of power when called upon but mostly this wagon just cruises along through the 2.73 gears of the Nova rear end. The transmission is a rebuilt TH400 with a 2500 stall converter and shift kit - it operates perfectly and ties together the whole package with a feeling of consistency and reliability.

Solid undercarriage with no sign of patching or repair. The undercoating has flaked off in some spots, evealing all original factory sheet metal.
The wagon comes with a folder of receipts detailing all aspects of the restoration, s well as correspondence between owners.
