Description for Pontiac Other 1932
On offer here is one of the all time more classic of collectible Pontiacs! This is a beautiful 1932 Pontiac Series 402 2 Door Sport Coupe which is finished in a beautiful shade of Hunter Green over grey cloth interior. The 1932 Pontiac models (the 302 V8s and the 402 6s) are well known and highly regarded in the classic car area for their V shaped radiator, aked windshield, nd 4 vent portals on either side of the bonnet! These were essentially the first of the true Pontiac cars as 1932 was the very last of the Oakland cars, oth being produced in the same year for 1932!
The example offered here is a fine example in very nice cosmetic and mechanical condition. We have driven the car sparingly and it performs to absolute perfection. It shifts extremely well through the gears, teers well, nd brakes straight as an arrow!
Overall, he 1932 Pontiacs were notable as well for a few new features for 1932. These included the "free wheeling" functionality which can be found to the right of the steering column along with the "ride control" functionality which can be found to the left of the steering column! Ride control allowed the driver to adjust the stiffness of the shock absorbers while driving the car while the free wheeling system allowed the car to coast freely when the driver lifted off the gas but kept the automobile in gear with the clutch out. It essentially prevented engine braking to allow for better fuel economy among other benefits.
The car is powered by its original 200 cubic inch straight 6 engine which has the matching VIN stamped into the block. Power is transmitted through a lovely 3 speed manual transmission. Overall, hese cars had a healthy 65 horsepower which was quite a lot for 1932!
All in all, hat you have here is a very rare 1932 Pontiac which displays design elements and mechanical features which are generally only found in much higher end and more expensive cars from this time period. The chance to purchase true early Pontiacs like this is not one which comes around often.
