Description for Pontiac Grand Prix 1990

Unmolested RARE 99. 9% original ASC McLaren Turbo Grand Prix at NO RESERVE!! ABSOLUTE SALE!! DO NOT LET THIS CAR GET AWAY!! I owned an 89 Black one 12 years ago. I regret getting rid of it because I haven't come across one since!! Then with 194k miles. one of the best cars I've ever had! If this car was the black version. it would be sitting in my garage! Beautiful Red exterior is gorgeous!! If you knew the 90s era GM paint jobs. they didn't hold up and literally flaked off. But they rarely rusted. This car no different. not a speck of rust to be seen. If I stare hard enough. I can see signs of repaints (tape line at pinstripe which was common). but it was done properly! Everything matches very nicely. Believe it or not. the Eagle GT 245/50/16ZR tires look to be the originals!! They need replacement NOW. altho you can drive it home. I drove it for nearly an hour to ensure its reliability and safety. The shine on this car is ridiculous. I would call it a barn find but it's more like a personal garage find. Only way you find one nicer is in the wrapper undriven hidden away from the public. This one was driven but was someone's baby for a long long time. Front bumper cover has a little paint check at the center emblem. and a cracked area hardly seen behind the license plate frame. Below that you can see the original Goodyear ZR series tires are evenly worn and ready for replacement. All ride on super clean original undamaged GOLD TGP Only rims with no vibrations. Front plastic lenses are unfaded and are NOT yellowing. Glass headlight lenses are excellent. A tiny bit of dryness on the hood louvers. a bit of hand polishing will perfect it. Hood and roof are nearly perfect with hardly a rockchip and no visible dings. In fact. I can count on one hand how many dings I found. Absolutely ZERO dents and no visible rust to be found. Glass is beautiful. Below is a little clearcoat booger. Indicative of a repaint. Few chips here and there. Notice the shine tho. ! Above and below your can see the bumper cover is in excellent condition with only a tiny chunk blemish on the lower driver's corner (you probably didn't even notice it) and a tad of paint fading up top. Note the 100% original exhaust tips connected to 100% original mufflers. These are usually long gone because the muffs rusted (which these are a bit-see below) and the tips are thick aluminum. They didn't last well in the midwest. The tailights are perfect!! Not dry. Not cracked. Not discolored. Typical Upper mirror paint fade. As you can see. the front lower spoiler is fully intact but a tiny bit of cracking is present. Pretty minor if you consider it's age and most of these cars spoilers are long gone. Interior is excellent. I believe the cloth interior is more rare than the leather versions. No noticable cuts. rips. tears or damages to the cloth. carpet. vinyl. dashboard. doorpanels. seats. roof. etc. Steering wheel is perfect. Driver's bolster is barely worn. Sunroof operates as it should. Below you can see ALL the dummy lights come on during startup and NONE stay on during run. Understand. the car suffers from the typical "ANTI-LOCK" flashing light issue. The brakes work but you can hear the power brake pump running on and off more than normal. My girlfriend was able to easily drive the car after I told her of the issue. The brakes feel great. no pulsing or grinding. Just a bit of pedal qwirkiness. 1990 "technology" afterall. NO RESERVE remember?? Note how nice the oil pressure gauge is at idle. As far as I can tell. ALL the power items work as they should: power windows. locks. sunroof. cruise. steering wheel controls. climate control (AC needs a recharge but has HOT heat). power seats (air controls seem a bit finnicky). power mirrors. heads up display. center console compass. AM/FM/Cassette (untested cassette) comes with rear Concord Amp with Eclipse speakers and I'd imagine the fronts are the same. etc! Spare tire setup is intact and ready for you roadtrip home. Sorry no floormats. Note the rear amp and wiring. BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!! ALL the original manuals. all the original sales cards. suppliments. original keys. etc. Turbo only manual covers. by the way. Pick a spot underneath the hood and eat from it!! Super clean and dry up top. Only a bit of sweating underneath. no MAJOR oil leaks with only a spot the size of a quarter on my shop floor after 2 nights. Doesn't seem to be suffering from the typical intake/valve cover leakage. NO coolant leaks altho the fans don't seem to be operating as they should. The car didn't overheat while taking pics but when I let it idle thru a drive-thru. it heated up. Once on the road. the temp stays normal (from the natural airflow). There are 2 relays that may need replacing (primary and secondary fan relays) as the fans are NOT locked up. Suspension feels great especially for a 1990 model. No pops. rattles. or squeaks. Drives nice and straight with no unusual wandering or pulling. Alternator is recently new as is the belt and the battery. EVERYTHING under the hood is factory stock! No modifications at all. In all of my excitement to list this car and bring it to you. I didn't even discuss the details of the engine and transmission!! Sorry!! The engine fires right up and runs smoothly. Does NOT have the typical 60degree GM V6 gurgle or rattling that these motors provided. There was an actual GM press release notice that claimed that these engines were just noisy. NOT THIS ONE!! I'd contribute that to the low mileage. There is no moisture in the oil or oil in the coolant. This was indicative of the dreaded valvecover/intake gasket failures that these motors also suffered from. This is NOT to say that shouldn't be performed at some time in the future. which for longevity. you should perform to keep this RARE car in top shape. Just for now. no problems. Turbo is quiet and strong. Car feels like much more than the minimally rated 205hp! The transmission fluid is clean with no material contamination. It shifts thru every gear as it should with no noises. slipping or malfunctions. No drivetrain noises. It really doesn't get more turn key fun than this!! Get it home. Install some new tires. Go over it with some maintenance so you know when it was done and enjoy the car!! Ready for the local car shows and cruise nights right now!! GOOD LUCK!! I HATE smoke and I can't see or smell ANY signs of a former smoker. In fact. here's the "GM GoodWrench" certification that it's a non-smoker car. who knew they had these!! Below I tried to offer shots of the underside of the car. First off is a shot of the body edge where some dummy jacked the car up wrong. but nothing major. You can also see the minimal surface rust. or lack of. Everything is nice and straight. Parking brake cable is nice. Subframe is nice. Transpan is clean with minimal buildup. A bit of oil sweat on the back side of the engine. Rear looks great with minimal rusting of the mufflers. BID. BUY and DRIVE this car ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE!!
