Description for Pontiac Grand Prix 1969

Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, n sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, n order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

The all new Grand Prix was the highlight of the 1969 Pontiac season. Sales of the luxury-sport Grand Prix had been gradually declining since their peak in the mid sixties and Pontiac finally offered the features that the public obviously wanted at the pinnacle of the legendary American muscle car era - an elegant yet obviously sporty package with a long hood, iding various large displacement engines for plenty of power, ith quad headlights on each side, radiator style center grille, nd a short clean decklid with tail-lights set into the rear bumper and a cockpit style driver's center with a full length console, ucket seats and wood grain everywhere. This particular Model J is very desirably optioned with the largest available 428 'XG' code 4 barrel 390HP High Output engine of its day matched to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a 3.23 Limited Slip rear end. This potent 428 made its last appearance this year in both the full size and Grand Prix lines. Reportedly only 1 of 706 built with the 428 High Output engine, utomatic and factory A/C!
Finished in its original factory 'Midnight Green Metallic' color (Paint Code 57) paint with it's mostly all original factory 'Green' (Trim Code 286) Knit-Vinyl seats interior, part from an after market cassette player professionally installed where the original AM radio was originally. A very rare survivor and daily driver which has obviously always been garaged since new with only very minor imperfections and patina for its age! The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any accidents - obviously a garaged and well looked after and maintained model since new.
The car looks extremely impressive and is a very rare mostly all stock and highly factory optioned example with the dashboard, he all original 'Loop Pile' carpets and the seats all in absolutely exceptional condition throughout, ith only very minor signs of wear! All the chrome-work is also in exceptional condition and the original spare wheel is located in the trunk. The car will be sold with its full PHS documentation.
The original matching #'s 428cid 4 barrel 390HP engine is extremely strong and powerful and sounds absolutely magnificent with a deep growl coming from its dual exhausts (visit our You Tube page for proof!) and this particular car drives absolutely magnificently - must be driven to be believed - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, hakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day sports car a run for it's money! The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and the temperature always remains cool!
This is one very rare and highly desirable and collectible mostly all original and stock example of one of the outstanding GM designs of the sixties, which has high repute amongst collectors for both it's beautiful lines and smooth and high power performance for a luxury coupe, ndeed it was marketed by Pontiac as follows: "This machine was designed for one purpose - driving. Personal, uxurious and spirited driving!" We could not agree more.
A rare find and beautiful example of pure all American muscle from the epitome of the muscle car era - a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J coupe with the largest available displacement matching #'s 428/390HP High Output V8 engine! A sure-fire investment that's sure to appreciate over the years for any classic American sixties car collector or simply any muscle car enthusiast!
