Description for Pontiac Firebird 1981
Thanks for looking. Yes, it does have a reserve. Not going to let it go for $4,500, you know? NADA says $14,600 high with these options. Bid high and bid often on our cruisin' fun beautiful red 1981 Pontiac Firebird formula. Hard top coupe. It has the owners manuals and original order sheet. I believe we are 3rd owners. Rear interior looks like it was never sat in. Carpet is immaculate. Trunk has zero rust. I did redo the headliner since we had it, the perforated foam liner gave up about 5-6 years ago. It was an up-state NY car before we bought it. It has paperwork to support the 21,075 mileage claim. It is not a rotisserie resto or complete show car, but it is in really good shape as a survivor. Cats-back on the exhaust was updated before we bought it. It took 3rd place in a field of 20 cars at a local car show in Aug. 2009. To me, after we bought it back in 2005, I found evidence of repainting. It has been Ziebart undercoated at some point early on. No rust that I could find anywhere on the car. I went down the panels of the car with the knock test and found no filler. Car is clean with a good title. Car runs and drives like it is on rails. It has a small front transmission seal leak (from sitting no doubt), couple of drips, top it off each year and no issues. It has a couple of paint imperfections on the nose and rear bumpers of the car. It has a couple of minor dime sized dings from parking lot warriors. It is a two-barrel 265ci V-8. You aren't going to be able to take it to the race track to do 12's, but you will have a gas sipping cruiser that starts every time and idles like a kitten. Everything works including the A/C. Original Delco cassette radio. If you want a clean unmolested Formula Firebird, look no further. We drive it maybe twice a year. Once for NH state inspection and again usually in the summer to the drive-in. Kept in a heated garage on a battery tender since ownership. Time for someone else to love it as much as we do. We reserve the right to withdraw from the auction early if the reserve isn't met as it is listed locally. Any questions? Need more pics...etc. Just ask.
