Description for Pontiac Grand Prix 1977
Selling my 1977 Grand Prix. This a great old car, it runs and drives perfect. It has had the radiator, thermostat, water pump, heater-core, fuel pump, brakes, shocks, plugs and wires, and most hoses replaced. I would drive this car anywhere. The only thing it could use the air conditioning re-charged as it the compressor runs for about 30 seconds and shuts-off. A great color combination of silver and red. A real pleasure to drive, very smooth and quiet, nothing has been altered inside and under the hood. It has been re-painted one time and looks great. There was some rust bubbles on the back left side of the trunk lid that I did a quick repair on, and one rust bubble near the right real fender well (not repaired as its about the size of a nickel) and a few lumps on the right rear corner of the rear window.. Other than that the car has no rust on the body or the chassis. The car is really clean as it was always garage kept (and still is) and a local Burien Washington car, the underside looks great. A piece of trim is missing on the right rear quarter and the two of the fender well trim pieces I lost. I bought the car from the original owner ( a neighbor) and he had replaced the radio, but did not cut the plastic radio surround, so a stock unit could go right back in. The rally clock does not work all of the time, other than that everything works as it should, even the windshield squirters. These cars make a great alternative to the GTOs and Trans-ams, especially the SJ models as this car has the last of the real Pontiac 400 engine and the last year of the full size Grand Prix. I think these cars will appreciate in value. I really don't want to beat the car up too bad, I just want to disclose any defects that I've found, its a really nice old car that nobody has messed with, that has the SJ package with a great interior, I'm only selling to get after some house projects.. Call me with questions at 312-972-7614.I wanted to answer all of the questions I have recieved : There is a Rally Wheel Spare Tire Jack and Lug wrench, I put on the steering wheel cover and it's not damaged underneath, the headliner is great, dome light and glove box light works, I have the owners manual and other glove box items, the rust on the back of the trunk lid was just a few bubbles that I sanded down and repainted (a very small area), the transmission is fine- bright red fluid, no leaks, smooth shifts, the brakes are great-no pulling, all of the lights work, the car has full instruments, no power windows, nice playing radio, the rear bumper chrome is not so great and the right side rear filler has shrunk. Its still a great car that is nearly 40 years old..
