Description for Pontiac GTO 1964
The REAL DEAL- A PHS Certified first year 1964 GTO Convertible.
I know- you're thinking... it's WAY too cheap- what gives?
Well as you probably guessed this is a NON numbers matching car. An original tri power convertible, with a 4 spd dressed in these colors are pushing $200k! Building a car like this 64 shown here today is about 1/2 that value but looks, sounds and feels the same.
Exterior:
As you can see from the pictures this GTO it is absolutely stunning. This 1964 Goat has received a full ground up restoration. PHS Documented, the color combination is correct and a rare find. If you're talking eye ball, this one has got it. The body is very solid with a solid body, floors and frame. There was one minor patch needed in the trunk pan and was completed and detailed(not noticeable at all, but wanted to point it out). The GTO was restored about 7 years ago and used Sikkens base coat clear coat that was color sanded and buffed to its current finish. The paint contains high luster and will stand tall at any car show or cruise night. Top top has been replaced and is new condition. The top cylinders and motor were replaced about 4 years ago. All the glass is in excellent condition. The chrome bumpers have been replated and are brilliant. All the bright work is in excellent condition and has a nice appearance. New redlines were installed on factory wheels and dog dish hub caps. The car has been driven to shows and for short drives since restoration so expect very little wear on the exterior. The body appears straight and any body work that was done, was done right. Please look at the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have.
Interior:
As you can see from the pictures, the interior is as beautiful as the exterior complimenting each other perfectly. The whole interior is practically new. New door panels, new seats, and carpets. The dash is original and in excellent condition. It has an aftermarket pontiac radio and the original AM Radio IS INCLUDED. The top up or down, this interior is show ready and as mentioned earlier, the color is PHS documented to be the right color. Please look at the pictures provided and let us know of any questions.
Drivetrain:
The drivetrain is a non numbers matching late 60s 389 Block with a set of very good 670 heads from a 67 GTO. I just recently spent another $4500 getting a museum quality restored 64 Tri Power setup and manifold and having everything installed, timed and tuned to perfection. This GTO runs SO WELL it's addictive! The very good paint job just received a thorough detailing, touchup and buffout by renowned restorer Danny McGhee. The original automatic was removed and the much more desirable 4 spd box was installed with new clutch. The exhaust was upgraded with a new splitter exhaust and sounds amazing. Car also has factory power brakes and power steering. It has a brand new wiring harness installed and all belts, hoses, tires, suspension etc is all roadworthy and ready to go cruising. The amount of mileage that is on this build is about 3700 miles. It looks, sounds and feels FRESH. The motor and Tri Power look absolutely perfect- and have a bit more OOMPH than the standard factory stuff!
I have priced this car VERY fair. Hagerty has a #2 '64 GTO four speed with Tri Power priced at $125,000- #1 cars are priced at $180,000!!! REAL GTO's have gone up 30% in the last two years! THIS IS NOT A REPLICA- it's a real deal GTO with all period correct stuff on it. This car has every bit of the eyeball, growl and authenticity of ANY of those cars- and the perfect color scheme. This is a Best Offer auction- so please give me your best shot. yes I know it's ebay so I will get lots and lots of very lowball offers, so I have set the listing to automatically reject lowball offer- No offense- I like the car to much to entertain low offers. I am in no rush and don't really need the money- just losing my storage at the end of the year so i have to move some stuff from my 35+ pc collection.
