  • The Bonneville remained Pontiac's costliest and most luxurious model throughout the 1960s and was instrumental in pushing Pontiac to third place in sales from 1962 to 1970.
  • The distinctive protruding grille made its appearance on all Pontiac products during the early 1960s, and was a modern revival of a similar appearance on Pontiac products during the 1930s and early 1940s, as demonstrated on thePontiac Torpedo.
  • The Bonneville differed from its lesserCatalinaandStar Chiefcounterparts by featuring more luxurious interior trim with upgraded cloth and Morrokide vinyl or expanded Morrokide upholstery in sedans and coupes, expanded Morrokide in Safari wagons and genuine leather seating in convertibles. Bonnevilles (with the exception of Bonneville Safari station wagons) were also (along with Star Chiefs) built on a longer wheelbase version of GM's B-Body. Also found in the Bonneville were instrument panels and door panels with walnut veneer trim, carpeted lower door panels, grab bar on the passenger side of the dash and courtesy lights and a rear arm rest. Beginning in 1964, a Bonneville Brougham option package was available that included an even more luxurious interior trim level with front and rear seats featuring center armrests, upgraded door panels and a standard Cordova (vinyl) roof with "Brougham" nameplates. The two-door hardtop was marketed as the "Sports Coupe", the four door pillarless models were called "Vistas".
  • Bonneville models were standard equipped withHydra-Matic(through 1964) orTurbo Hydra-Matic(1965-on)automatic transmissions. Other options included power steering and power brakes as well asair conditioning. Other popular options included power windows, power seats, radio, cruise control, and 8-lug aluminum wheels that included integral brake drums for improved stopping power. The Bonneville also had more powerful standard V8 engines than other full-sized Pontiacs including the 389cuin (6.4l) or 400cuin (6.6l)V8swith four-barrel carburetors (power ratings of 303 to 340hp (226 to 254kW) depending on year) with many optional V8 offerings available including Tri-Power (three two-barrelcarburetor) options on both the 389cuin (6.4l) and 421cuin (6.9l) V8s that offered up to 376hp (280kW) through 1966. For 1962, Pontiac also offered the 421cuin (6.9l) Super Duty with two four-barrel carburetors, rated at 405hp (302kW), as a US$2,250 option (when the base Bonneville listed at US$3,349).[9]
  • Mechanical

1963 Pontiac Bonneville, PS,PB,AT,AC, Safe-t-track (Limited slip differential), 3X2 carburetors numbers matching car. The mileage looks correct comparing the odometer to the service records (door jam decals) however the title does not have the miles because of the age. The engine (389 3x2) runs strong and the transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears. Rebuilt carburetors, all the hoses arereplace, tune up (AC plugs, wires, points, cap etc.) replaced brakes (shoes, brake lines, wheel cylinders, master cylinder) new gas tank, new fuel pump, fuel lines, new alternator, new radiator, new battery. The tires are excellent. everything works (horn, lights, dome lights, gas gauge, signals, radio, rear speaker, etc.) except the clock.

    Runs and drives great.

    Exterior

The exterior is in great drivers condition. The paint is nice and has a very smooth finish. All chrome is nice and the bumpers are very straight and clean. All glass is good. Clean engine bay, trunk and undercarriage. Whit wall tires with the original hubcaps. Overall very solid and great looking car. Well maintained and mostly garage kept.

    Interior

The interior is very original and it's in fantastic shape. Very nice color combination of dark and light turquoise. The seats are super clean and have no tears. The dash is complete and everything works except the clock. Nice door panels and headliner. Windows roll up and down smoothly.
