Description for Pontiac Le Mans 1971
I have owned this Pontiac Lemans for 20 years, but it is time for another car to take her place. This car is a driver and was driven. The car was bought new in Boonville, IN and I purchased it in Evansville in 1997. The frame, floorpans and trunk floor are as solid as new, they were never rusted or replaced. The car was a survivor and had never even had a door panel cut for speaker or any modifications. The original color was Sandlewood (same shade of beige as most file cabinets) with brown interior and brown vinyl top. The color now is early 2000's GM Bright Red with white vinyl top and pearl white interior. The bodywork was done in the early 2000's by Kurtz Body Shop, an old school shop in Henderson, KY. The car was disassembled and stripped to bare metal. Body is absolutely straight. The frame was not stripped as car is a driver, but all body bushings were replaced and the front supension was rebuilt. The motor is the original 350 2bbl with auto transmission. I believe miles on car to be 65,000 ( was 62,000 when I bought car). Motor runs good but has not been rebuilt. The car was a factory air car but I have never converted to R-134 and does not currently work. The car has power steering and an upgrade to a quicker ratio steering box makes the car drive like a 90's car rather than a 60's car. The brakes were upgraded to power front disc. Bumpers are rechromed, new rocker panel trim and emblems. Interior was replaced but is showing some age, dash pad is an aftermarket cap. Wheels are 15 inch Rally II's with brand new Cooper Cobra's ( just bought last month). The motor has new oil pan gasket and rear seal, oil pump this year, transmission was serviced, new flywheel, new brake booster, new master cylinder, new calipers, new rear drums, new wheel cylinders, new proportioning valve. Also new this year are radiator, water pump, timing chain and cover. Car is a real head turner and was not a fast flip.
