Description for Pontiac Firebird 1971
1971 Firebird EspritLow miles at 57,600!One family ownedNot many untouched 'survivor' early birds around.Being a very early 71 build (August 1970), it has some 1970 only parts which is unique. Car is very original and could serve as reference for restoring others. Very nice car for what it is.
Low mile nice car. Not perfect but something nice to drive or build into TA or Formula. I'd drive it as is. Body is exceptionally solid as shown. A little rust in RR 1/4 and a touch in front of left rear wheel. Both areas can be seen in pictures. Body does have dents as pictured.RH fender has had a damage repair. Would replace if restorin, otherwise, i'd leave it as is. Peak of nose has an indentation as pictured. All these can be fixed without replacing panels. Fenders, wheel wells, rad support and hood are original proper 70-72 only pieces.
350 2 bbl Pontiac engine runs good. No smoke. Oil pressure is 10-50 psi as checked with mechanical gauge. All fluids and filters changed (engine, trans, cooling, brakes)Car has been gone through and any major and noticeable/ observed minor issues addressed and fixed properly. Brake system has been gone through and components replaced as needed.New heater coreNew alternator. Original one included with saleAll mechanical repairs were done recently. Receipts included with sale.Due to sitting until recently, car may need tires and shocks. Tires appear usable and hold air, but are old. Car has points ignition. I would change to Pertronix for better overall performance. This can be done for additional cost.
A/C holds vacuum but will need a new clutch installed prior to being charged. This can be done at buyers request for additional cost. Would recommend retaining R12 freon which can be installed as same time.
Purchase of house forces sale. Otherwise I would keep it and drive as a semi daily driver within the fleet. Also due to house, I am selling another 71 Firebird 4 speed, 1979 Trans Am, 1972 Formula 400 4 speed and a 1930 Chevy. Also have a 1939 Buick Century Coupe project.
Will ship worldwide. I am within 1 hour to the NYC ports. Will assist in shipping logistics but buyer is ultimate responsible for any and all transportation and associated cost, custom paperwork, arrangements, ect.
Bid only if you have funds. This should be common sense.
Used old car disclaimer, being a vintage vehicle, things / issues can arise. I've gone through and addressed components and areas that were observed and deemed needing repair. Description and pictures should provide a good idea of what you are buying. Areas of notable concern are mentioned. Ask questions. Look at pictures. Physical inspections welcome. I have close to 100 pictures I can email of the car. Car is for sale locally. Vehicle is being sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS with NO Warranties implied.
