Description for Pontiac Firebird 1967
Fresh from a restoration, this 1967 Pontiac Firebird convertible features all the best classic elements you love, but now it has bolder paint, a better suspension, and a more powerful V8 heart.
There's no sneaking around in a Firebird convertible painted Torch Red. It's a bold package, which is what you want on a standout droptop like this. It has a nice shine that complements the first-gen Firebird's beak-like chrome nose, full-width spoiler, and slotted trim that looks like a bird in flight. Good bodywork underneath helps to impress, too, including the crisply defined crease that runs along the full profile. There has been a lot of recent care and investment that has gone into keeping this convertible looking its muscle car best. And that's what owning a first-year Firebird is all about. It gets the period-correct aggression with the ram air hood and GTO-inspired taillights. And the upgraded 17-inch Ridler wheels are a nice hint at the other upgrades this droptop received during its restoration.
You paid a little bit more for a Pontiac back in the day, and the difference can be seen inside where there's a delightfully upscale black interior. It has a great texture on the vinyl bucket seats, and there's a desirable center console up front. Like a good sports car, the driver's focus is on the deep dual-pod gauges viewed through the original-style three-spoke steering wheel. Plus, there's a nice upgrade to an auxiliary readout trio to your side. And this one really takes the time to look authentic on everything from the AM/FM radio in the wood panel center stack, to the control for the power convertible top.
Under the hood there are more great signs of restoration investment. After all, this classic might be celebrating the half-century make, but the freshness of all the components in the engine bay look like they were installed yesterday! More than just looking crisp and clean, this is one powerful machine. The 383 cubic-inch V8 was built with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, Proform distributor, aluminum valve covers, ARP head bolts, and an aluminum radiator. It fires up readily, and makes a terrific sound out of the Flowmaster dual exhaust. Plus, you should take some time to check out the front suspension in the undercarriage photos. With tubular A-arms, fresh bushings, and front disc brakes, this is a terrific upgrade. Add in power steering and the grip of modern performance tires, and you're looking at a surefooted classic.
This droptop has been nicely invested in so you'll be happy to drive it and even prouder to show it off. So yes, this is the kind of attractive Firebird that won't stick around here long. Call now!
