Description for Pontiac Trans Am 1979
This amazing show quality 1979 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition 6.6 Liter will be certain to thrill it's new owner. This beautiful un-restored car was built in Van Nuys California in 1979 and never driven in rain or snow, always garaged kept and never abused or modified in any way. The tires that are on the car now are the exact same ones the car left the factory with in 1979,,, and still in excellent condition. The spare tire has never been removed from the trunk, nor have the tools, jack or inflator canister. The car is in excellent condition with no rust and has been undercoated since new, A rustproofing company named Tuff-Kote Dinol applied the undercoating when the car was new and it has preserved the metal surface under the car perfectly, in one of the photos I cleaned away the undercoating in a small area to show the metal underneath... metal looks just like it did the day it left the factory. Very desirable color combination Black exterior and Tan interior, just like the car featured in Smokey and the Bandit. The interior of the car is truly incredible, no rips, tears or stains. Perfect dash with no cracks or wear, original build sheet in excellent condition, original floor mats, original AC Delco AM FM 8 track player (yes 8 track player works), original T Tops and T Top bags, original GM info card still on the drivers side visor... not a reproduction, it's the original one the car left the factory with. Original owners manuals, books, warranty information, invoices, service records, undercoating information and full PHS (Pontiac Historical Services) documentation. This car was purchased as a special surprise gift for a mans daughter who was returning home from military service. His daughter (Linda) although surprised and thrilled with the car knew the practicality of such a car may not be a good idea as a daily driver.. so another, more practical car was purchased and this car was parked back in her fathers garage. Howard (her father) was an excellent care taker of the car over the years and only took it out on the nicest of days and for routine oil changes twice a year... regardless of mileage. The car has never been washed with water in over twenty five years, Howard cleaned and polished it after every use. The outside of the car is stunning and has a very hi gloss finish, one area on the door and the rear bumper have been professionally painted and blended due to some scuff marks, this would go un noticed if not told but I won't hide anything. The rest of the paint and decals are all original. The AC needs charged,,, still R12. The clock stopped and the power antenna will not go up and down, but the antenna can be raised and lowered manually. The car has just had an extensive service completed including new belts (original ones saved and included). This is a turn key car you will be Very proud to own. If you have any questions I will be glad to assist you in any way I can. Exact miles are 13,459 miles with complete documentation. Thank You
