Description for Pontiac GTO 1966
Longtime Collector Liquidating Collection1966 Pontiac GTO Coupe!PHS DocumentedProtect-O-PlateMostly Original PaintCompletely and Always Rust Free!
I purchased this car from a man in Virginiawho's father purchased it new. The son owned the car for 42 years! The Goat still has most of its original paint, I gather the hood and deck lid have been blended at some point, the prior owner argues otherwise.
This is possibly the most solid and dry Goat I have ever owned. Perfect floors, trunk, doors. 1/4's rockers, floors, ect. The body is untouched, original spatter paint in the trunk, ect. Rear window channel does not even have a speck of rust.
The interior is 100% original, and shows very well, even the carpet is very nice. The wood dash veneer was "restained" at some point, and although it looks great, it reminds me of a 1966 Chris Craft wood boat, that is a $100 fix. I'm a purist and hate when things look good but are not technically correct. The seats are still nice with no wear or seat foamdegradation, even the original headliner stands proud! Console chromeisn't pitted, just a very nice original interior. I have manyreceipts over the years verifying a linear aggregation of miles and I have concluded that 55,000 in all honesty, is accurate.
The driveline has never been rebuilt. The carburetor and fuel line are correct replacements, but not correct to the car. The car got those awesome Moroso or whatever valve covers around 1980, but I have a NOS set. The car has never been restored, and does not need to be.
Everything works the way it should, not a spliced wire inthe whole car. Most of the factory inspection markings are still inplace.
If the engine was detailed, a set of Rally I's on this car it'd be $37,500 all day long.
This is a perfect car for someone that wants to spend a few days of detail work and less than a $1,000 and have a very very respectable local contender at the shows.
It is highly documented, runs and drives like a new GTO, is solid as can be, has excellent chrome and stainless, and needs nothing as-is! The heater core was replaced about 8 years ago, but never hooked up, no sense corroding the core sitting if youdon'tuse the heat!
I would have done these minors myself but I am liquidating my collection and thought I'd givesomeone a very honest deal on a very honest car.
I have some excellent shipping contacts that I use that I'd be happy to put you in touch with that I use to take some of my cars to shows and things across the Country, veryreliable and fairly priced.
If you look at my feedback, you'd understand that I do not sell junk, have no time for a dishonest description, am not some "flipper" looking to make a quick buck. This is a hobby and it is supposed to be fun.
If you want a detailed pig in lipstick, just look on eBay. Plenty of Body Shop Specials! This is your honest 55K mile Survivor thatyou can detail your way at home and drive and enjoy! Clear title of course!Payment via wire transfer or cash only.
A lot of people see my cars that I list, andwonder why the auction is gone 2 days later, well thats because I sold it. The earlybird gets the worm and none of the last 5 cars I listed lasted more than 3 days on eBay. I'm aggressively pricing these cars because I'mselling my building.
Pleasedon't ask me "what else I have for sale", as I decide to sell something I will list it.
Car is for sale locallyand auction may be ended at anytime. Call me, lets make a deal. I'm easy, like Sundaymorning. (630) 273-7595
