We are the third owner of this car. The first owner is not know, but the second owner was a lady who purchased the car in 1970 where she lived in St.Louis. She had kept allreceipts and documents of repairs done on the car from 1970 to when we purchased it in 1998. I must mention that the car was rear ended in the early to mid 1970's and I have photos of the damagebefore the repairs. The odometer says 79414. I think it might be on the second time around but not sure.Sometime in the mid 1990's the car had a total restoration. Shortly after, due to the fact the second owner had gotten remarried she needed to sell the car for a down payment on a house. In the years after my wife and I purchased it in 1998, we did a few things to it. In 2005 the motor was rebuilt and in 2009 the rear end was rebuilt and a new drive shaft installed. A newconvertible top was installed around 2004. A new battery less than a month old. All numbers are matching, but we did make a few changes. I must note that all changes were in the best effort to keep the car in stockappearance. Here they are: we changed from a 2bbl carb to a 4bbl. I found a stock 4 bbl. manifold with date code matching to other date codes on the motor. It had a quadrajet carb, but it gave us many problems so we changed it to an Edelbrock 4bbl. The exhaust was changed from single to dual. However we installed a system identical to the dual exhaust that would have been found a stock 68'equipped car. This car also had hub caps where weopted to add the rally II wheels with red line tires. Along with the sell of the car, it will also include the original stock manifold, carburetor and any other parts related to the swap. It also will come with the 4 original hub caps, an assortment of original literature, from a shop manual tobrochures all receipts / documents and a car cover. Since 1998 it has been garaged and driven in the rain once. It has won many car show awards over the years and has been to two Pontiac Oakland Club Int. conventions. The negatives. Since this is a 20 year plus restoration there are a few very minor paint chips. The car is very clean but could use a good deep detailing of the underside and engine compartment. It does drip a very small amount of oil occasionally which Im sure a lot of these older cars do. The inside of the front tire has a small bubble on it. I feel safe driving it around town but should be changed before a lot of highway use. Also right rear rim has some minor surface rust (see photo). This is my wifes baby and since it has not been driven a lot in the last few years she has decided to sell it so we can put our resources into activies that we can more fully enjoy with our adult children. We are hoping to find it a good home. Thanks for looking...
