Description for Pontiac Grand Prix 1977
Equal parts big motor and big luxury, this 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ is a true personal luxury classic. Something this well represented, with two-tone paint and subtle upgrades, has a ton of appeal at this obtainable price. This car really lives up to the "Grand" part of its name. After all, the factory-correct Mojave Tan and Brentwood Brown are great '70s colors. They have been updated later in life, and so it does a fantastic job of... highlighting some of the most interesting curves in the sheetmetal as its used for the two-tone dividing line. This car comes from an era of true style. That's why you get great pieces like the tan pinstripe following the two-tone divide, and a half vinyl roof that's finished in coordinating colors to the two-tone. Pontiac even had a little fun with the nomenclature by having their upper trim level names inspired by Duesenbergs, like on this Model LJ. But even with all this luxury, GM's performance division wanted to give you a hint at the V8 power within, so you have the iconic Rally II wheels. And yes, they are even finished in matching tan and brown â€" that's how well coordinated this car is! More of this luxury feeling comes the moment you open the door. The tan interior has a high degree of originality, and it starts with the seats. The plush velour feels great, and while there's plenty of room for family and friends, the fold-down armrest is a reminder the driver is always king. The curved dash surrounds you with everything from the full gauge panel to the upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo. And it's all set in a premium wood-like paneling. Plus, you have great features like a power seat, tilt steering wheel, and power windows to dial-in your ideal comfort position. Pontiac's legendary 400 cubic-inch V8 with a four-barrel carb on top is hard to beat. Torquey, smooth, and versatile, it easily allows this Grand Prix to live up to its effortless cruiser image. It looks terrific with the tidy setup, polished valve covers, and bright blue paint, so we suspect someone made an investment in detailing quite recently. More importantly, there have been good investments in keeping the V8 a strong runner like an HEI ignition, newer master cylinder, and an aluminum radiator. On the road, you have all the right features for an easy driving classic, including a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes. Well-coordinated and well-maintained, this Grand Prix is a true personal luxury machine from a time when that meant owning the road. So if you love a truly distinctive classic, call today!
